I am begging at this point. I’m begging someone, somewhere, to help me figure out what is happening to my baby.

My son is ONE YEAR OLD. He should be running around, laughing, playing, getting into everything, learning new things, and experiencing the world around him. Instead, we have watched our little boy change right in front of us.

He went from being awake, active, and himself to sleeping almost constantly.. day and night. He stares off into space. There are times when he doesn’t respond to us or seem aware of what is happening around him.

And the hardest part? WE STILL DON’T KNOW WHY.

We have had appointment after appointment. Specialist after specialist. Test after test. Twenty appointments. Five specialists. A 48-hour EEG. An MRI. Bloodwork. Sleep testing. Cardiology. Hearing testing. And so much more.

And somehow, after all of this, we are still sitting here with ZERO ANSWERS.

The 48-hour EEG showed no seizure activity, but he is still having these staring spells where he becomes unresponsive. We were told they are “awakeness awareness” spells, and when I asked what that meant, I was literally told, “I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS.”

How am I supposed to accept that? How am I supposed to take my baby home and just be okay with “everything is normal” when my child is NOT acting normal?

Something is wrong. I know my child. A test result might say “normal,” but that doesn’t magically make what we are seeing disappear.

We have now also found a confirmed hearing problem, and we still don’t know how severe it is. He has also had heart rhythm abnormalities that cardiology is monitoring. Every appointment seems to uncover something else, but somehow we are still no closer to understanding the WHY.

And I am exhausted.

I am exhausted from watching my baby sleep his life away. I am exhausted from watching him stare into space and wondering what is happening inside his head. I am exhausted from explaining the same symptoms over and over again to another doctor. I am exhausted from hearing that tests are “normal” when my baby is clearly telling us something isn’t right.

Most of all, I’m exhausted from having to fight so hard just to get someone to listen.

So I’m asking for something different.

I’M ASKING THE INTERNET FOR HELP.

I am NOT asking anyone to diagnose my son. I am asking if ANYONE has seen something similar.

Has your child ever experienced extreme sleepiness, staring or unresponsive episodes, sudden changes in behaviour or development, hearing problems, heart rhythm issues, or a combination of symptoms that doctors struggled to explain?

Did your child eventually get a diagnosis? Was there a specialist who finally connected the dots? Was there a test that you should have been asking about?

Please tell me.

Even if you think your experience sounds completely unrelated, please comment. You never know what tiny piece of information could lead us to the person who finally knows what is happening.

Because somewhere out there, there may be another parent who has been through this. Somewhere out there may be a doctor who has seen this before.

I just need to find them.

I don’t want attention. I don’t want sympathy.

I WANT ANSWERS FOR MY BABY.

I am going to keep fighting for him until someone finally listens.
