What I learned from Turtles All the Way Down:

When you feel like you’re not real… maybe it’s because you are infinite.

Aza spends the entire movie trapped inside her own mind questioning herself, questioning reality, questioning if she even exists the way others do. But what if that feeling of being “unreal” isn’t a flaw? What if it means you contain more than one version of yourself?

My deeper perspective:

Your thoughts make you more weak, not less.

We treat overthinking like a disease. We tell people to “stop worrying” or “get out of your head.” But Aza’s spirals aren’t weakness they’re proof that her mind is alive, searching, refusing to settle for easy answers.

The pain isn’t the problem. The problem is believing that the pain makes you broken.

What I felt:

The world tells you to simplify yourself. Fit into one box. Be one thing. But some people aren’t built that way they’re turtles all the way down. Layer after layer. No bottom. No final answer. And that’s not a curse. That’s depth.

Not all goodbyes are meant to be leaving forever. Some are meant to come back again.

My learning:

“When you feel like you’re not real, maybe it’s because you’re too infinite to fit inside one version of yourself.”

What I learned from Jersey:

In the movie, there’s a powerful emotion behind the idea:
“We all think my father struggled and died trying… but in reality, he tried even though he knew he would die.”
This carries a lot of weight.

But what made me think deeper is this:

Arjun had many ways to buy a jersey for his son. He could have earned money in different ways and bought it easily. But instead, Arjun chose what he was truly good at — cricket.

So I felt:
Whether Arjun dies or loses doesn’t matter. What matters is that he chose what he loved and what he was skilled at, believing he would succeed.

At the end, in my perspective — Arjun won.

My Learning:

“Choose what you love and what you are truly good at. You will win — even if it takes time.”

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

What I learned from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind:
In the movie, there’s a deep emotion behind the idea:
We try to erase pain by removing memories…
but we forget that those memories are what made the love real in the first place.
This feels “comforting and heartbreaking” at the same time.

But what my deeper perspective is:
Joel chose to erase Clementine…
not because the love wasn’t real,
but because the pain became too heavy to carry.
Yet even while losing those memories,
he kept holding onto the moments that mattered the most.
It’s like the heart remembers… even when the mind lets go.

So I felt:
You can erase memories, but you can’t erase what you felt.
Real connections don’t disappear they stay somewhere within you.

At the end, in my perspective :
They chose each other again… even after knowing how it might end.
That’s not fate. That’s a choice.

My Learning:
“Love isn’t about avoiding pain. It’s about choosing someone even when you know it might hurt.”

Clementine is “eternal sunshine” for “spotless mind” Joel.

What I learned from 500 Days of Summer.

In the movie, there’s a quiet truth behind the idea:
Not every love story is meant to last… even if it feels perfect while it’s happening.
Sometimes, we don’t fall in love with a person we fall in love with how we imagine them.
This carries a different kind of pain.

But what made me look deeper is,

Tom believed in fate.
He thought Summer was “the one,” and he held onto that idea even when reality kept showing him otherwise.
He ignored the signs… because he wanted the feeling to be real more than the truth itself.

So I felt:
It’s not just about loving someone—it’s about seeing them for who they truly are.
And sometimes, we don’t lose people… we lose the version of them we created in our minds.
