We’re on tour with @TheLaineHardy! In partnership with @wildwingcafe for a 6 market stop, Laine helps us celebrate by visiting our schools presenting instrument gifts, performing for our students while hosting free concerts at WWC locations! Next stop Savannah, Georgia! Let’s go!
This year, we plan to train 600 new music teachers, bringing thousands of new kids the life-changing gift of music education. And we won’t be able to do it without the kindness of folks like you. Thank you.
School children are facing challenges no students in modern history have had to face before. Now, more than ever, children need their music teachers, and their music teachers need you.

@bebe_ny @TimJDillon If you teach that Christopher Columbus is a hero discoverer and not mention the genocide and slavery he and other colonialists engaged in, that is racist education by virtue of its incompleteness. I agree with firing teachers who refuse to adapt their teaching.
@RocktheWorld13 @ericubong @BBCWorld So you’re saying genetic advantages are OK in men’s sports, but not women’s sports. And also that all athletes have some sort of genetic advantage and that training and hard work don’t factor in? Sorry, your answer is a bit hard to decipher from all the way over here on the couch

@Slick_W@TimJDillon It’s all coming from a place of respect brotha. I just disagree that the quote is absurd, and wondered why it would bother anyone enough to say so.
@Slick_W@TimJDillon Also, sports are human-constructed games with rules (that change over time) to make things more binary for ease of understanding. If an intersex woman has to take testosterone-reducing drugs to compete as a woman, then her humanity is being compromised for the sake of a game.
@Slick_W@TimJDillon And re: X/Y we can totally disagree from the academic perspective. People should be able to debate! But we also should recognize that it’s our privilege to do so. The greater debate and rhetoric surrounding it has policy implications which impact those peoples’ lives, not ours.
@Slick_W@TimJDillon Re: sex at birth: I’m no expert & won’t pretend to be, but my partner is, and there is a lot of research and literature suggesting that sex at birth is not as clear-cut as you might think. My question is what about this topic matters so much to people who aren’t affected by it?
@Slick_W@TimJDillon I do think that many forms of discrimination, including within youth sports, against trans people is a much more widely spread, systemic issue that has broader implications, like trickling up to military service.
