We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve. Just remember, if you discharge a firearm into the air, what goes up must come down...potentially with deadly consequences.

As you make your New Year’s Eve plans, be sure to have a safe ride home if you’ll be drinking.

Call a friend, call a taxi, or arrange for an Uber or Lyft.

We offer rides, but our cars only go to one destination.

We are aware of, and currently working, a gas leak on Hillcrest Street. Atmos Energy has been notified and will be correcting the issue.

At this time there is no known danger to citizens.

If possible avoid this area as Hillcrest will be closed between College and Fairview.

Just a week ago we put out a video warning of the possibility of persons stealing packages from your front porch. Well, today we made an arrest on Maple of a person who was stealing a package...and found methamphetamine on their person.

Our police elves have been working around the clock for the past several weeks shopping for & wrapping presents...& today we delivered to eight families the entirety of their kids’ Christmas wish lists. Providing for those in need is the most fulfilling kind of service.

On this day, we are thankful for family, friends, and the opportunity to serve our community.

We are also very thankful for the men and women of our police, fire, dispatch, and military who will spend this holiday away from their loved ones while serving others.

We are so excited to deliver complete Thanksgiving meals to 10 families, totaling 50 people, here in our city over the next few days. We hope that these individuals have a joyous, and yummy, holiday!
