1) Indian companies are earning less from their core businesses and more from investments, property, interest and capital gains.
2) The share of business income fell from 57.3% in 2012–13 to 45.4% in 2023–24.
Income from capital gains, interest, house property and similar sources rose from 12% to 18.8%.
(Govt. deep tax cuts proved useless for the nation)
3) Even among very rich taxpayers, business income has become much smaller compared with capital or “rentier” income.
(FM and CEA both appealed, but no use)
4) For people earning above ₹100 crore, the ratio of business income to capital income fell sharply from 8 to 2.4.
5) Data shows that industrial sales are losing importance, while income from dividends, interest and treasury operations is increasing.

This shift signals deep financialisation and weakening industrial activity - companies making more money from assets and markets than from producing goods, creating jobs and expanding factories.

Also a pertinent question: why are they not interested in putting up new mfg. businesses? Any fear? Any concern? Or ... ?

Expect lesser jobs in future, and more discontent. And of course a massive concentration of incomes and wealth.

BJP does cater to Savarna voters. Savarna Hindus primarily vote for “Musalman ko seedha karo” and “punish Pakistan”. The government larped about both of those and built the Ram Temple for them. Non-Savarna Hindus vote for representation and reservation, and the government gave that to them.

Voters are getting exactly what they asked for. No voter can ask for everything. The government will fulfil the minimum number of demands needed to keep you voting for them.

Don’t forget that the NDA government is totally dependent on the thin plurality of votes it gets over the opposition because of the FPTP system. It ideally doesn't want to risk a single vote and will always try to constantly balance. Its ideology turns 20% of the population to be permanent non-voter.
