I couldn’t believe the amount of anti-trans protestors that showed up today. I appreciate Trans Family Kingston for organizing a peaceful and joyful space to demonstrate that love is bigger than hate. Protecting our youth means loving them for all that they are. 🏳️⚧️ ♥️ 🏳️🌈
I was on @YourMorning yesterday talking about my research project which is a podcast on the Black experience in Kingston! Check it out at the link. | Black experiences in small-town Canada #blackincanada @keepupwithti https://t.co/Xfw0TjVaBD
A big thank you to the @cityofkingston for supporting this big idea, all of my fellow community members for jumping on board to create magic, a huge thanks to the many partners and sponsors! https://t.co/Oq8Z6AXkV7
And most of all I am grateful to the many volunteers and business owners, artists and performers who braved the horrendous weather yesterday (with big smiles!). I was happy to see things clear near the end of the day and watch the vibes come alive! 💃🏿😂.
Moms and mom-figures - this job is tough! Whether you’re in the thick of it and exhausted by the daily grind. They’ve flown the coop and you’re missing them. You’re waiting with hopeful anticipation for the positive test result.
Or you’re grieving a complicated maternal relationship. It’s all hard. And this day can either bring light or cast a heavy shadow on all of these complex feelings. I hope you find a moment today of peace and quiet in whatever way feels best for you.
I popped into L.s.p designs (corner of Barrack and Wellington) today and it was a perfect drop of sunshine during this stretch of rainy days. These dry arrangements are great decor that will last longer than a fresh bouquet. Great Mother’s Day gift idea! 😉
The purpose is to fight the narrative that Black folks don’t live in our community and instead center their experiences. Follow the linked Instagram account as I share more context and launch over the summer.

I am at the end of my part-time Master’s degree in the department of Cultural Studies at Queen's. My project is a podcast on the Black experience in Kingston. I will interview Black folks who live or have lived in Kingston.
So happy to contribute to @downtownktown’s new blog, The Downtown Dish! My first feature is an interview with The Refinery rem wellness + Social House co-owners Heidi and Lesley #ygk#downtownkingston https://t.co/0lHF14QW2F
Growing up in Kingston my hair has always been a topic of conversation, “where do you get your hair done?”, “how do you get your hair like that?”, “can I touch it?” (🤦🏾♀️). I would travel to Toronto every few months to see a hairdresser that could chemically relax it or braid it.
