@DavidBowieGlam Yes it’s The Drowned *Girl* from the Baal EP; a Bertolt Brecht poem set to music by Kurt Weill, this version arranged by Dominic Muldowney
@kennylanglea Love it! Jean Genie a particular favourite. I got the original bootleg back in the day that includes Dennis Davis’s full 8 minute drum solo in Panic in Detroit, heavily edited in the official release but worth a listen; it’s bound to be out there somewhere!
@DavidBowieGlam Love this album! But have you encountered ‘Welcome to the Blackout’? A recording of the last night of the Isolar II tour at Hammersmith London, interesting to hear how the songs have developed, a couple of extras including (I think) the first live version of ‘Sound and Vision’
@DavidBowieGlam Very much so! A track reflecting the hidden depths of Let’s Dance an album often dismissed as being a bit lightweight. For those of us old enough to remember 1983 it was a time of industrial strife and high unemployment, Bowie seems to be alluding to that in the lyrics
shouting forever on the tube - muting the screeches as the rails chug down the line
