i am very afraid and do not know enough about the subject to give an informed response. why, why are you reading this.
All fleeting is glory. Memento Tweeti.
@exQUIZitely The story goes that Gygax himself was involved in writing the scenario, but no one's been able to confirm that. And the SNES story just got totally warped on account of going from French->Japanese->English.
The CRPG addict writeup is memorable.

@BigRoboLad Word is that Chomet wants to make a new film with the three old women now.
(I agree with the critics who say that "A Magnificent Life" was pretty, but quite unsatisfying.)
@exQUIZitely There's an entertaining tale about how they initially wanted to simulate a fully-functional natural ecology - with predictable results.

@exQUIZitely It had a lot of appeal initially, but I never quite understood the physics. Two falling boulders would usually roll off each other in entirely unpredictable ways.
@animathias Wow, Yoshi can spit Pokies and Piranha Plants too?
I really wish someone would release a patch that restores the original power-down mechanics, i.e. Fire Mario/Cape Mario -> Small Mario when hit.
Also, those instruments samples are so off...
@filiphracek@jfwfreo XP in a VM is supposed to have 3D acceleration, isn't it? I'm not sure what the best option is these days specifically, but that used to be the case.
Also 16-bit installers would run just fine in a 32-bit VM.
@jfwfreo@filiphracek I was just going to post that.
It used to be the case that VMs weren't an option for older games incompatible with XP that still required hardware acceleration, but these days you can use PCem/86box/DOSBox-X for that and get full 3D-hardware emulation.
@animathias I remember reading about this in Nintendo Power back in the day and it really didn't give any sense about how the game worked compared to the 2D games.
@SuperShowHQ But what of Club Mario!?
(...They really did make 65 Club Mario segments, didn't they? And they were all total crap, weren't they? Even the Youtube commentators won't touch them.)
