@rationalyankee The Yankees are going to have a $360M payroll dedicated to Aaron Judge the next 9 years and it’s easy to make the case that he didn’t even get better this offseason. 2023 Judge replaces 2022 Judge. It’s one of the worst off seasons I’ve ever seen.
@RealRichWilkins Agreed. As a Mets fan, both our fanbases have seen plenty of bottom dwelling baseball. NL East is going to be solid this season. Mets and Phillies are making moves, and the Braves are always the Braves. Going to be another exciting season.
@KyleGelling The Mets were 2nd in MLB in team batting average and 5th in runs scored. So I think maintaining would be good. Nido and Escobar became reliable towards the end. If they carry that into 2023, with the addition of Alvarez and Baty, both positions improved.
@noahgittell@PSLToFlushing@Anthony@JetUpJohnny Honestly I think it makes perfect sense to sign a guy like McNeil now. He's just a pure contact hitter. He doesn't rely on speed or power and isn't at an athletic position. He may age gracefully just because he doesn't rely on the tools that you lose first with age.
@storybook77@NBCSPhilly That was put in place because previously postponed games would restart. The new rule simply meant a postponed game resumes instead of restarting. For 'this' game, the home team is leading and the away team has batted the minimum to make it an official game.
@ryandmorrissey@brandonaaragon The Nats broadcast did show him in the dugout chatting with Bassett for the Mets half of the 5th. The SNY broadcast did show him head into the clubhouse though, but he was back on the bench after that.
