On this day in 1963, civil rights leader and organizer #MedgarEvers was assassinated by a white supremacist in the driveway of his home. We remember his legacy and honor his family, including his wife, #MyrlieEversWilliams, who was a dear friend of our founder, #CorettaScottKing.

Amber Coleman said her son, Jayden Wilson, has been missing since May 21.
According to his family, Wilson was last seen after recently graduating from Charles R. Drew Charter School on May 16.
Coleman said her son has never run away before and described his disappearance as completely out of character.
“I am absolutely bewildered and beside myself,” Coleman wrote in a social media post. “He has NEVER run away or done anything like this before.”
Family members said Wilson does not have a cell phone or any type of tracking device with him. They also said he does not drive and may or may not have identification on him.
Wilson was last seen near the Evelyn G. Lowery Library at Cascade in southwest Atlanta. His mother said he may also have connections to the Cascade, Camp Creek and Riverdale areas.
Coleman said her son has never lived independently and does not have a strong support system in Georgia.
They do have family and friends in Indiana.
She said the family’s only concern right now is making sure he is safe.
“I don’t care who he reaches out to as long as he knows he is somewhere safe,” Coleman wrote. “We just want Jayden safe.”
65 years ago yesterday my dad was part of a group of heroes arrested in Jackson, MS while participating in the Freedom Rides. This is what it takes. This is what it’s always taken.
He was 20 years old.
