H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Chairperson of the EAC Summit, today 9th/06/2026 met with EAC Secretary General Stephen Patrick Mbundi, alongside DSG and senior officials from the East African Community (EAC) and the Ministry of East African Community Affairs (MEACA) at State Lodge Nakasero.
The Ugandan delegation was led by Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, accompanied by The Minister of State for East African Community Affairs (MEACA) Hon. James Magode Ikuya. Amb. Anne Katusiime, Uganda’s Consul General in Arusha, as well as Commissioners from the Ministry of East African Community Affairs (MEACA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
Discussions focused on regional trade, infrastructure development, health, financing, staffing, and deeper regional integration. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and accelerating programmes that advance prosperity and integration for the people of East Africa.

The Uganda Consulate in Arusha participated in the EAC Sectoral Council on Trade, Industry, Finance and Investment (SCTIFI) held from 29 May–4 June 2026. The meeting progressed through Senior Officials, Permanent Secretaries and Ministerial sessions, advancing regional trade, industry, finance and investment integration.
Uganda's delegation was headed by PS Lynette Bagonza (MTIC), with PS Edith Mwanje (MEACA) chairing the Council. Also in attendance were Amb. Richard Kabonero (ECD), Consul General Amb. Anne Katusiime and Counsellor Philip Kanyoonzi.

The Travel Specialists team, alongside tourism media personalities, held a planning meeting. They were officially welcomed and hosted by Amb. @KatusiimeAnne, Ms. Kyasiimire Florence ( @florencekyasii1 ) from @UgandaMFA, and the Consulate team for a briefing on how Uganda’s Kilifair celebrations will be conducted from 4th to 7th June, culminating on the final day.
The Ambassador confirmed that Uganda will have an exhibition village at Kilifair, as well as Uganda Day celebrations on 6th at the same grounds.
Ugandan tour operators will also participate in a B2B cocktail dinner with Tanzanian counterparts, followed by a gala dinner in Arusha.
