I met Rt Hon Baroness Chapman, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, today at State House Entebbe. We discussed investment and ways to strengthen the partnership between Uganda and the United Kingdom. I also called upon British and European investors to take a keen interest in investing in Africa, as the continent has enormous potential for economic growth, trade, and prosperity. I welcome her.
In the picture, I am with Mr. Cohen Carlos, who owns Feldstein Co. Ltd., a gold refinery in Kampala. It refines Uganda’s gold to a purity level of 99.9%, which recently was earning USD 173,000 per kilogram. On account of the war in the Gulf of Persia, the price is now USD 129,000.
This particular one and a half kilograms of gold that I am holding is from Ibanda. Mr. Cohen is building another refinery in Morulem, Abim.
Uganda is waking up. We have 10 licensed gold refineries in Uganda. Mr. Cohen’s refineries are printing the Bank of Uganda logo on the gold bars.
Signed:
Yoweri K. Museveni

@KagutaMuseveni We appreciate your wisdom, Mzee, in encouraging modern, safe, and resilient buildings. Thank you for always thinking ahead for our nation.
Later, I met the outgoing High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania, Maj. Gen. Paul Kisesa Simuli, and the outgoing Ambassador of Sweden, Carina Maria Håkansson, who paid me farewell courtesy calls. We discussed matters of mutual interest and our continued cooperation. I thank them for their service and wish them good luck in their future endeavours.
@KagutaMuseveni We appreciate your dedication to ensuring every minister remains focused on delivering results for the people of Uganda. Thank you, Mzee.
Today, I chaired the first Cabinet meeting of the new administration following the successful Cabinet Induction Retreat at Kyankwanzi. I urged the ministers to remain focused on disciplined implementation, accountability and efficient service delivery as we work to fulfil the NRM’s commitment of securing Uganda’s socio-economic transformation over the next five years.
I reminded the graduates that discipline and integrity are the foundation of service. They must reject corruption, safeguard their health, and use modern tools such as forensic science, K9 units and CCTV to defeat crime. Security must also support wealth creation by protecting our people and ensuring every Ugandan joins the money economy. I wish them success as they serve Uganda with patriotism and dedication.
Today at Kabalye, I passed out 9,952 officers comprising the 25th Intake of Probationer Police Constables and the 3rd Intake of the Immigration Officers’ Course. I congratulate them on successfully completing their training and commend the Police leadership and instructors for producing a disciplined force.
@KagutaMuseveni Thank you, Mzee, for promoting value addition in coffee, fruits, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors. Uganda's future is brighter because of your leadership.
Today, at State House, Entebbe, I welcomed a delegation from Al Mansour Holdings led by Mr. Umar Bchinnati, who brought a message from Sheikh Mansour bin Jabor.
We discussed areas where Uganda and Qatar could cooperate, especially value addition through fruit processing, starch, coffee, pharmaceuticals, energy, and logistics. Uganda has the resources, market, and people. What we need are more partnerships that bring capital, technology, and equipment to create jobs and transform our economy.
I welcome this collaboration and look forward to strengthening our ties with Qatar.
@KagutaMuseveni Well done, Mzee, for welcoming investors who will help increase the value of Uganda’s dairy products. This is a great step towards wealth creation and prosperity.
Today, I met Egyptian investors at State House, Entebbe, who shared proposals to partner with Uganda in the dairy sector, including establishing a modern milk processing facility in Ngoma.
I told them that Uganda now produces about 5.4 billion litres of milk annually, with a surplus available for processing and export. Our focus is on value addition, quality improvement and expanding export markets. I welcome them and wish them good luck.
Pan-Africanism and patriotism will drive economic and political unification in Africa. We need to have the ability to protect our interests in every area while giving our people chances and prosperity. #WhyUgDecidedM7 President Yoweri Museveni
