Some interesting new education items in the state budget:
1) The State Board of Education would only have to meet once per year.
2) Governors' Workforce Cabinet is repealed.
Senate Republicans are releasing their budget bill this morning. Probably the biggest headline from K-12 funding is that their budget does not expand private school vouchers to universal status and reduces percentage of funding for virtual schools from 85% to 70% of foundation.

On a pretty pivotal committee day for Rep. Behning, he is out today to chair the House Education Committee where he was to move two big amendments to SB 373, one of which was to address IPS sharing resources with charters. Next week is likely the last week for committee business.
