@We_Make_America@nicksortor As a current airline Captain at a major US carrier the standards for becoming a pilot haven’t changed. I have been a licensed pilot since 1988. We all need an ATP. That requirement hasn’t changed. What’s changed is all airlines lowered their higher minimums. Stop fear monger
@kristinawong Runway 33 is utilized quite often, especially for the regional jets.
Next it is common practice to fly the Mt Vernon visual approach to runway 01, then when you are handed off to DCA tower they ask if you can circle to runway 33.
I have done this exact scenario as a pilot
@AAAWisconsin I am glad your drivers follow traffic laws(sarcasm). Speeding thru a school zone and almost hitting kids walking to school (in a crosswalk). Oh and the driver had a cell phone in his hand.
@andrewatdca @CaptainBobbie @SecretaryPete Have you ever gone through the Special Issuance process? Its draconian, cumbersome and takes 4-8 months.
The FAA is also not progressive when it comes with dealing with mental health.
Pilot shortage is a myth. Those who claim pilot shortage quickly claim a need for the retirement age rule change. A NARROW focused, personalized, lobbyist specialized interest of the RAA. It’s bad policy. Unproven, unsafe, & unnecessary. Say NO to 67 @commercedems
