WTF the state is still locking people up because they have learning disabilities because it doesn't know what else to do or won't fund the humane solution. Well done @itvnews for highlighting this Dickensian scandal.
'We wish we'd never asked for help'
The thousands of people with learning disabilities, who are locked away in mental health units because there is nowhere else for them to go.

It has been a huge pleasure for us today to welcome former @Coventry_City manager Mark Robins to award him with an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration 👏
Mark oversaw promotions from League Two and League One, while also taking his side to within a penalty kick of a return to the Premier League. Coventry City also won the @EFL Trophy in 2017 and reached an FA Cup semi-final last season for the first time since 1987.
While all good things must come to an end, we were delighted to recognise the positive impact that he's had on football and the community of Coventry as a whole.

Today marked the inauguration of our new Chancellor, @aaelsewedy.
President and CEO of @ElsewedyElec, a global provider of integrated energy solutions, and a professional engineer, Eng Ahmed El Sewedy has taken up the ceremonial role today, replacing Dr Margaret Casely-Hayford CBE after her seven years in the role.
He has had a key role in the development of Coventry University’s branch campus in Cairo, known as @knowledgehubeg. It has proved so successful that a second branch campus on the other side of Cairo in New Zeyad City will soon begin construction. It will be known as TKH West.

We're delighted to announce that we'll be presenting former @Coventry_City manager Mark Robins with an Honorary Doctorate to recognise his impact on the club and the city.

While Mark parted ways with the club earlier this month, we wanted to recognise the positive impact that he's had on football and the community of Coventry as a whole.
Professor John Latham CBE, Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University, said: "Mark Robins has played a crucial role in helping Coventry City come out of a dark few years and helped restore pride and belief among the fan base.
"His outstanding leadership and dedication to Coventry stretches further than just on the football pitch and we are proud to bestow this honour upon him for his contribution both on and off the field over the past near decade.
"It is said that all good things come to an end but it is right that we acknowledge the enormous and positive impact Mark has made here in Coventry."

We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Ben's parents Tom and Joanne while on holiday last week. A lovely and inspirational couple doing amazing things for other families. This is a great cause to support if you can afford to donate. https://t.co/t4nFmrohXd
We couldn’t agree more with the Secretary of State 👏 The worth of international students is clear to see. That couldn't be more evident than here at Coventry University Group where we have a wonderfully diverse student body that brings so much to not just our institutions but the communities they belong to.

Great to hear from the Education Sec that the govt continues to support & value the contribution of international students 🌏👩🎓
The message is: if you meet university & visa entry requirements, the British government and British people will welcome you
