🚨 The Court of Criminal Appeals' decision to execute #RobertRoberson for a crime that might not have even occurred is unconscionable.

I also call for the #Txlege House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee to hold a hearing as soon as possible to prevent a possible miscarriage of justice of the highest magnitude.

Just received word that the Court of Criminal Appeals has denied all relief sought by Roberson in this case … a terribly unjust and unconscionable decision that, in my opinion, compels immediate action by the legislature.

Just like we’ve done before in Melissa Lucio’s case, I believe a public hearing of our Criminal Jurisprudence Committee, chaired by @moodyforelpaso, should be quickly called and convened next week to ensure the system doesn’t irreparably fail Roberson by allowing his execution to proceed next Thursday.

While highly unusual, holding a public hearing is without question the right and just thing to do. Knowing him like I do, I’m hopeful Chairman Moody will do just that. #RobertRoberson

@RightOnCrime Let’s start by referencing them as kids and not juvenile offenders. I run a youth detention facility and the majority of my kids suffer from extreme PTSD from past abuse and trauma. Most are products of their environment. Thanks @RightOnCrime for bringing attention to this issue
