God’s Design for Marriage

📖 Genesis 2:18–25

For the first time in creation, God says something is “not good.” Adam is alone. God declares, “I will make him a helper fit for him.”

God creates woman from man and brings her to him. Adam immediately recognizes her as uniquely joined to him: “bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.”

Marriage was not invented by governments, cultures, or churches. It was established by God before sin entered the world. One man and one woman are joined together in a covenant union, becoming one flesh.

That truth matters greatly today. Culture may redefine marriage, sexuality, and even what it means to be male and female, but human opinion cannot overturn the Creator’s design.

Our families need to know that marriage is God’s gift. It should be protected, honored, and lived with faithfulness, sacrifice, love, and lifelong commitment.

📖 Main Verse:
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24

🕊️ Call to Salvation:
Even God’s perfect design has been damaged by our sin. Jesus Christ came to redeem sinners. He lived without sin, died in our place, and rose again. Repent and trust in Christ alone. He forgives, restores, and gives eternal life.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, strengthen our marriages and families. Help us honor Your design, remain faithful to Your Word, and reflect Your love in our homes. Amen.

Rahab was a prostitute.

She had a past that could have become a permanent label.

But she later married Salmon, an Israelite, and became the mother of Boaz.

And look at the kind of man Boaz became.

When Ruth came into his life, he didn't exploit her. He didn't sleep with her and call it love. He did things honorably and properly, following the right process before taking her as his wife.

Think about that.

A woman with a complicated past raised a man known for his integrity.

Who would have believed that Rahab, whose past was marked by sexual immorality, would become part of the lineage of Jesus Christ?

This is why you must never allow your past to become your identity.

God can redeem a broken history.

God can restore dignity.

God can transform a family line.

God can take what people used to shame you and make it part of your testimony.

Your past may explain where you came from, but it does not have the final authority over where God is taking you.

YOUR PAST DOESN'T NEED TO DEFINE YOU.

There is redemption in God.

When you don’t know what to say, pray Scripture back to God.

You don’t always need to find the perfect words. You don’t need to make your prayer sound deep, spiritual, or impressive.

Take a Psalm. Take a promise from the Bible. Take a verse that speaks to your situation, and turn it into your own prayer.

If you are afraid, pray, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

If you are anxious, pray, “Cast all my cares upon You, because You care for me.”

If you feel weak, pray, “Your grace is sufficient for me, and Your strength is made perfect in weakness.”

If you need direction, pray, “Teach me Your way, O Lord, and lead me in the right path.”

If you are waiting, pray, “I will wait upon the Lord. I trust Your timing, Your wisdom, and Your plan.”

If you feel alone, remind yourself of His promise: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

This is one of the simplest ways to pray with confidence.

You are not praying based on your emotions alone.

You are not trying to convince God to care about you.

You are reminding yourself of what He has already spoken.

The Word of God gives you language when you have run out of words.

Sometimes you may be so broken that all you can do is open the Bible, find a verse, and whisper it back to God through your tears.

That is still prayer.

Sometimes your prayer may simply be:

“Lord, You said…”

“Father, Your Word says…”

“God, You promised…”

And then you stand on what He said.

Scripture gives your faith something solid to hold onto when your feelings are changing.

So when you don’t know what to pray, don’t give up praying.

Open your Bible.

Find a promise.

Read it slowly.

Personalize it.

Turn it into a conversation with God.

Pray His Word back to Him.

Because when you pray according to His Word, you are not guessing what God wants.

You are aligning your heart with what He has already revealed.

You may not know what tomorrow holds.

You may not understand what God is doing.

You may not know how the situation will end.

But you can always remind yourself of what God has said.

And sometimes, that is enough to keep you standing.

“Lord, I don't know what to say today, but I know what Your Word says. So I choose to believe You.”

Keep praying.

Keep trusting.

Keep standing on the Word.

God is faithful. 🙏🏽

Lets pray,

Heavenly Father,
This Sunday morning, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude for Your faithfulness. I thank You for this new day. Lord, as the first light of this day breaks through, I ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon me. Let Your glory saturate every area of my life. Cleanse me, renew me, and empower me to walk in the fullness of Your calling. I surrender my agenda, my plans, and my worries to You, for You are the God who holds my future in the palm of Your hand.
Lord, I speak Your Word over this day:
•I declare Psalm 118:24: “This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.
•I declare Isaiah 60:1: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
•I declare 2 Corinthians 3:17: “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
I seal this Sunday morning prayer with the blood of Jesus, believing that everything I have prayed is already established in the heavens. I step into this day with joy, expectation, and peace, knowing that You are with me and for me. Amen.

Have you ever come to a fork in the road and weren’t sure which way to go? I have!

Well, thankfully when it comes to life decisions, God’s Word gives us clear roadmaps. His warning about sin isn’t just a glimpse into His character and heart; it’s a navigational system to help us stay on the path that will lead to life and keep us out of harm.

But so often—intentionally or not—we take a wrong turn. We face a fork in the road and choose the wrong path. Right away, all seems okay. We’re still moving in our original intended direction. But we soon find that we are very, very lost.

Suddenly, God’s voice seems distant. Suddenly, we find ourselves in a bad and/or dangerous place. Suddenly, we hardly recognize ourselves. Suddenly, we forget where we were going in the first place.

And all it took was one wrong turn.

Sin is a slippery slope and can easily trip us up before we realize what’s happening. Our first line of defense is to avoid the wrong turns in the first place: spend as much time as we possibly can in the Word of God. Study it. Learn from it. Let His roadmap become emblazoned on our hearts and minds. Remind ourselves that every decision matters, and one wrong move can set us back days, weeks, months, or even years.

But second, remember that no matter how lost we become, no matter how far off the beaten path we wander, He knows exactly where we are and how to get us back to where we’re meant to be. He is never far. He is never turned away. He loves you so much that He will leave the 99 to come and find you in the wilderness!

"The Lord says, I will give you back seven times what you lost." — Joel 2:25

There are seasons in life when it feels like everything has been poured out—our strength, our peace, our joy, our dreams, and even the years we can never get back. We pray, we wait, and sometimes we wonder if God still remembers us. But the Lord is never late, and He never forgets His children.

God is able to restore what the enemy tried to destroy. He can rebuild what was broken, heal what was wounded, and open doors that no one can shut. What looks impossible to man is always possible with God. Your tears have not been wasted. Every prayer has been heard. Every act of faith has been seen by heaven.

The promise of restoration is not merely about receiving more possessions—it is about receiving renewed hope, restored peace, deeper faith, and a closer walk with God. His blessings often exceed our expectations because His plans are always greater than ours.

If you are in a season of waiting, don't give up. Stay faithful. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep serving the Lord even when you cannot see the outcome. God's silence is never His absence, and His delay is never His denial.

The same God who restored Job, who lifted Joseph from the prison to the palace, and who raised Jesus from the grave is still working today. He specializes in turning mourning into dancing, ashes into beauty, and loss into overflowing blessing.

Your story is not over. What you lost does not define your future. God's grace has the final word, and His restoration is greater than your greatest disappointment.

Trust Him. Wait on Him. Remain faithful. Your season of restoration is coming, and when God restores, He does it in a way that brings Him all the glory.

God knows it’s been a tough stretch recently and wants you to know that you’re not alone and that Grace is all around you. Yes your prayers are heard, yes God will make a way for you, and yes you will receive exactly what you need, exactly when you need it. So remember to surrender, keep your heart open to miracles, and keep taking it one day at a time because your faith is moving the entire universe. And you will walk out of this season forever transformed and with a testimony that will not only bless your life, but all of creation.

The State has one purpose: to enforce the Law. The purpose of the Law is to organize for the collective defense of private property (the most essential form of which is your body, your physical safety).

We give the State the monopoly on legal violence so they may use violence to protect us and our property from plunderers and invaders who seek to harm our bodies and steal our property.

When the State fails to enforce the Law, fails to use violence against plunderers and invaders, that is a Failed State.

When you live in a Failed State, where the State abdicates its duty to enforce the Law and defend its citizens, ordinary men are forced to enforce the Law themselves. Ordinary men are forced to use violence against violent plunderers.

Ordinary men do not want to use violence; they are not violent men. They are simply men who want to protect their families, their property, and their country from the real violent men who seek to destroy everything they love and hold dear.

The UK is a Failed State. It seems ordinary men in Belfast have finally had enough.

I bear this scar and pain for Jesus. This is the mark that I left darkness into light.

Although, after many surgeries, the medical complications are still there, but I will never go back from following Jesus.

I was in a church sharing my salvation experience, and after I have preached and about 300 hundred gave their lives to Christ, as I was coming out of the church, some people shouted, Pastor we need your help.

Unknown to me, they were angry Muslim who were bittɛred because of a growing number of people who are leaving Islam in my community in Gambia because of my testimony.

As I looked back, one of them poured a bucked of acid on my face, as I turned the other side, another one poured another bucket of acid and they were shouting:

"Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar".

My eyes were affected but not totally blinded. I am joyfully bearing the scars and the pain. That is the price I have to pay in following Jesus.

Brethren stood by me, they prayed for me, they took care of me. There is love in Jesus.

Please 🙏 pray that the Lord will heal my pains completely. Pray for my faith not to shake.

Although, they are still threatening me, but there is no going back from following Jesus.
