@csi_lund @AzureSupport Understand that Only way an Ri “switches” is on deallocation of a VM. Because you normally cant scale down a VM only up. As long as you have proper core count for Ri you will always count against it.

@csi_lund @AzureSupport With instance flexibility it allocates as VMs with correct family and cores meet the criteria. it doesn’t allocate based on whats larger. If you want to cover a more expensive VM purchase a reservation for capacity over flexibility.

@LiorKamrat I am so glad you said this. I am interviewing people for Azure roles and they have difficulty talking about IaaS, SaaS and PaaS constructs. If you get to the interview phase you might want to maybe spend a little time learning since anything is on the table.
