I think this would be a customer centric solution that can remove alot of the headache on the customer side associated with faulty consoles/devices, provide another remarkable benefit for pro-members, and increase used console/accessory circulation.
How GameStop wins
GameStop wins because in exchange for a used console, they will get a manufacturer refurbished console which is of higher value than just used merchandise. Not only that it brings customers to the physical stores where they may purchase something.
How Customers win
Customers have the ability to get back to what they love, gaming, the same day they had their console issue. No waiting 2-4 weeks for their console to come back from the RMA process and any possible damage that could occur on the way back.
2. Customer can come in same-day and trade in for a used console or accessory of the same model for no-cost and GameStop handles the RMA process from there.
This is a win for both Customers and GameStop.
