@scastro87@RyanKnowsBall well tie game in the 9th with tatis on second a single will drive him in, high average guy statistically is more likely to do that job and a walk won’t matter as much cause all you need is 1. ofc if it’s like the 5th inning then obp would matter more but it’s a nuanced situation
@RyanKnowsBall in general if you had to pick in a vacuum youd take the guy with the higher wrc+, but in small sample size situations (playoffs where each game counts) just getting that one run across is huge. although arraez hasnt been as good as the last 2 years, it happens he still has value!
@RyanKnowsBall there’s always gonna be a moment (remember 2022 playoffs) when all you need is a single and having a guy like arraez up there is objectively better for that situation than a low average high power guy
