Always great to catch up with @PatMcAfeeShow, a West Virginia legend!
Whether on the football field, behind the mic, or on the national stage, Pat has never forgotten his Mountaineer roots.
WATCH LIVE: GOP @SenCapito joins our @bjlefebvre to discuss the state of Senate negotiations over permitting reform and the path to an agreement before the August recess.
Tune into their chat at the @POLITICOLive Energy Summit👇 https://t.co/5mhsh6cyoN
Thank you @POTUS for your commitment to generating reliable, baseload, energy through West Virginia coal. My fellow West Virginians and I are thankful to have an administration in the @WhiteHouse that recognizes the importance of coal, and how it creates expanded manufacturing opportunities, affordable power, and good-paying jobs for our coal miners and their families.
🚨Happening now. We are currently voting to fund @ICEgov and @CBP for the next three years.
My Democrat colleagues have left us no choice but to use this process.
Grateful to hear @POTUS, cabinet members, and attendees at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner are safe following tonight’s incident. Thankful for the swift response of law enforcement and those who acted quickly to protect others.
NEW: I sat down with Shelley Moore Capito to discuss the evolution of her career and West Virginia’s changing politics
If you don’t know a lot about Capito, it’s because she’s an understated force on Capitol Hill. She’s managed to stay in Trump’s good graces while simultaneously working across the aisle, despite representing a state the president won by 42 points in 2024
Across a one-hour interview, Capito opened up about the influence of her father, a three-term West Virginia governor, and how she sees the rift between traditional Rs and the new MAGA Right. https://t.co/RxImRS5925
Last night, @SenateGOP took a major step to provide funding for ICE and Border Patrol for three years.
Adopting the budget resolution will pave the way for a reconciliation bill that will ensure our law enforcement officers receive the resources they need to ensure the safety of the American people.
I am disappointed in my Democrat colleagues’ refusal to cooperate on a bipartisan level for the good of our country. During a time when national security is critical, they have turned their backs on our nation’s law enforcement officers.
Republicans will continue the fight to secure our border and enforce immigration laws that keep our nation out of harm’s way.
My heart is heavy after hearing about the passing of David McKinley. He was a fighter. Not only did David fight for his principles and the causes he believed in, but he also fought hardest for his cherished West Virginia. As a proud eighth generation West Virginian, he espoused the values that are so embedded in our state. His dedication and commitment to our coal miners was second to none, and as the only licensed engineer in Congress during his time in the House of Representatives, he brought thorough analysis to the legislative process. He was also a dedicated WVU football fan—never missing a chance to cheer them on. My heart goes out to his devoted wife Mary and his family in sympathy for their loss and in gratitude for his decades of public service and friendship.
Easter has always been one of my favorite times of the year because it fills our hearts with a deeper sense of love and gratitude for the Lord. I hope that everyone is able to spend this special time with family and friends, giving thanks for the many blessings we share.
However you choose to celebrate—whether it be church worship, easter egg hunts, or a quiet dinner with family and friends—don’t forget to take a moment to reflect, give thanks, and rejoice in the hope and joy of this Easter season.
.@SteveDaines has been a dear friend to me and to Charlie for many years. From serving together in the House, to coming into the Senate together as part of the “Bear Den,” to working side-by-side in Senate Republican leadership, it has been an honor to serve alongside him.
Steve has always been a steadfast advocate for Montana and a principled conservative voice in the Senate, working every day to deliver results for the people of Montana.
I’m grateful for his friendship and partnership in the Senate, and I hope he and Cindy embrace this next chapter with plenty of well-earned time with family and friends.
.@POTUS has given the Iranian regime countless opportunities to stand down, stop killing their people, and abandon their nuclear ambitions. Instead of choosing a peaceful path, they have doubled down on weapons designed to threaten the American people.
I am following U.S. operations in Iran very closely, and I look forward to receiving briefings soon. In the meantime, I will continue to monitor developments as we work to ensure the safety and security of Americans at home and abroad. My prayers are with the brave men and women who serve our country in uniform.
What a great moment.
These men are an inspiration to young athletes around the country. Happy to get the chance to cheer them on in person last night.

During his State of the Union address, President Trump awarded the Purple Heart to Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, who survived a shooting in Washington, D.C. Wolfe’s fellow soldier, West Virginia National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom, did not survive.

An incredible tribute to Spc. Beckstrom and Staff Sgt. Wolfe—true West Virginia heroes.
Grateful to see @POTUS award them the Purple Heart in recognition of their courage and sacrifice in defense of our nation.
God bless them and their families, and thank you for your service.
