A troll's attempted shade: "You're a failure at being a man and a failure at being a woman." Huh? Yes, and that's kind of the point. Yes, and you just affirmed your belief in nonbinary identities. In related news, you know who doesn't like be "yes, and"-ed? Twitter trolls.
@BKLYNlibrary Has anyone won this yet? I mean, gotten to the 62? I am trying to walk to each branch. I live in Flatbush and it's astonishing how far Williamsburg is away!
@JeffsLianne @marionleary @Penn@PennNursing@PennMedicine I'm very frowny in this photo, but it's really just my earnest face. Wasn't it such a lovely evening? I think I'd watch a nurse storytelling show every evening for a year and still want more. @marionleary and @FirstPersonArts and all the storytellers made such an event!
I'm performing at the Kentucky State Student RN Conference on Feb 10th. And I'll be at a booth during the day. Theoretically selling books but mostly I'll be hosting nursing students with some "you can do it" coloring sheets and chatting. Stop by! https://t.co/YqrylBRKi3
If there is anything anything anything I can think of that I'd rather do than tell stories with other nurses, well, I can't really think about what it would be. Virtual! Free and open to everyone. Nurses telling stories!
On one of my comedy specials I have bits about 1. Being patient zero for a queer flu pandemic and 2. Queers at a 12 step meeting for survivors of the climate/zombie apocalypse. That was only seven years ago. #notagingwell
So great performing w/ warm/funny @RabiahComedy at Chris O' Neill's Tinder Tales at #edfringe. Also at Fringe I was mistaken for an accountant & Diva called me their "trusty" correspondent, so I'm pretty sure my mom would have been equally pleased w/ my August escapades.
@timkelly369 @kellidunham@TheFreeFringe @CCBloomsBar My wife I saw this yesterday. Some are born storytellers; Kelli is one with such skill. Poignant, sad, always human and darkly humorous; a connectedness as if the narrative is solely for you…qt a skill. Life, love, loss, and yes, laughter. Great recommendation @timkelly369
So #EdFringe2023 performers (#FillYerBoots) tell me about the non-tangible gifts of performing/bringing your show. I'll start: two afternoons ago, a mom/daughter dyad left having conversations about end of life care. Daughter said "I can never get her to talk about this."
@ohrhealy Also got to be a part of an online conversation event with MSP Rona Mackay about end of life care and medical aid in dying! So that’s a special experience.
@ohrhealy Audiences small at times, nearly full at others. But two afternoons ago a mom and adult daughter walked out talking about end of life decisions, the daughter told me she’s been trying to have that conversation for ages. I can’t complain about that!
Thanks so so much to MSP Mackay and @FriendsAtTheEnd for making this lovely conversation happen. It's amazing the connections when we talk about death & end of life wishes. It's one of the kindest things you can do for someone you love, even (or perhaps especially) if it's hard.
Delighted to be part of this event at 6.30 tonight with the terrific @kellidunham#edinburghfringe
A special free online evening with former nun-turned-comic storyteller Kelli Dunham in conversation with MSP Rona Mackay.
Celebrate #fatbottomedgirls- check out the work of burlesque diva Heather MacAllister, (middle in this image), whose troupe was photographed by @TheRealNimoy for the Full Body Project. My show in #edfringe23 shares much of her glorious life...and death. And community.
I did not know that Leonard Nimoy made a photography book of fat women called The Full Body Project and it looks GLORIOUS. He clearly photographed them with love and respect, what a king. (H/t to one of my fave Insta accounts @/historicalfatpeople)
