You are an American because you are allowed to exist as an individual.

Most of the world is collective by default. People are born into tribe, sect, class, religion, or party, and they never truly leave it.

Loyalty comes before truth, belonging comes before belief. To step outside the collective is seen as betrayal.

That is why people dream of America.

They are not fleeing poverty alone, they are fleeing absorption. They are fleeing systems where the group owns the person, where deviation is punished, and where the price of security is silence.

In America a society built on the idea that you exist before the group does. That your conscience is not leased to a higher collective purpose.

Collectivism promises more money, protection, belonging, warmth. But the exchange is never equal.

What it takes from you is who you are, your independence of mind, your right to stand alone, your ability to say “no” without being erased or punished.

Collective systems can't tolerate that idea. They survive by conformity, not truth. They need people who repeat, not people who think.

That is why collectivism moralizes dependency and pathologizes independence. The individual becomes selfish, antisocial, disruptive, anything except sovereign.

America was meant to be free, and freedom is cold. It requires responsibility, risk, failure, standing alone without guarantees.

That is why collectivist ideologies despise it, and why they constantly try to soften it, dilute it, or replace it with managed dependency.

Once you accept that the collective owes you comfort, it will soon decide that you owe it obedience.

This is the trade every collectivist system makes.

You must fight to remain an individual because once individualism is gone, it never returns peacefully.

They want you to abandon the very thing that made you society desirable to the rest of the world, to submit to “community” as a moral authority.

But the world does not admire collectives. It escapes them.

If America forgets that it was built for individuals, not managed populations, it will become just another place people dream of leaving.

The question is whether the thing you build after you've discarded most of the Hadith, thrown out the tafsir, and reinterpreted the Qur'an still gets to call itself Islam.

It doesn't.

You accuse me of handing the supremacist clerics full control over what counts as Islam, while you're actually the one conceding it when you say that reform means the current version is the problem.

That current version is fourteen centuries of jurisprudence, every canonical Hadith collection, and the consensus of all the major schools of law.

The petrodollar funded the same Islamic jihad that for fourteen centuries was funded by the Islamic caliphates, from the days of Muhammad and his 86 battles all the way to the Ottomans.

Your reform is not a rival reading of that tradition. By your own description it's a near-total demolition of it.

You don't get to tear down nine-tenths of a building, raise a new one on the empty lot, and then claim it's the original.

Call it American Islam, and I'll stay out of your way and let you do this cute thing you're trying to do.

The day you stand up and say plainly that what you represent is not the Islam of the texts, that it's something new, and that the old thing is what needs replacing, I'll stand next to you and fight beside you.

Instead, you insist your version is Islam, the real one, the true one, and that the faith practiced by the overwhelming majority is the counterfeit.

When you tell the West that your reading is the authentic Islam and the supremacist's reading is the fringe, you deceive the West.

Every time you stand up and announce that this is Islam and it's peaceful, you hand the "supremacist" a shield. You grant the very canonical scripture he cites as his mandate an immunity from criticism.

Muslims calling for the destruction of the infidel West quote the Qur'an, and you turn around and tell the West those verses are peaceful and the men reciting them aren't true Muslims.

So the West bans the men and protects the scripture. It fights the symptom and sanctifies the disease.

You say my work is all diagnosis and no cure, that you're the chemo and I'm only hospice, while your entire career has been spent insisting the malignant tissue is healthy and only a few cells went rogue.

You protect the source and blame the practitioners.

And don't reach for the Iranians as your proof, because the tens of millions walking away from the Islamic Republic aren't evidence that your renovated Islam works. Most of them are walking away from Islam entirely, not toward some reformed version of it. They aren't proof that the theology can be salvaged.

I am not your enemy, and I never called you one.

You want the moral authority that comes with the word Islam and the moral product that comes from having gutted it, and you can't bank both at once.

Just last month, they raised the Jordanian flag - colors of historic Islamic caliphates - over City Hall while a county official shouted “Inshallah” and vowed to plant it over every town in Passaic County.

This is conquest, not immigration. The Constitution is being replaced by Sharia, block by block.

Paterson is the blueprint.
