The Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association has launched a PSA on media outlets across the state featuring Brookline Police Chief Paster & her children!
The new school year begins in Brookline, we remind motorists to watch for kids as they travel to school. @MAPOLICECHIEFS
Another police officer dead. This time in Kentucky. Scott County Deputy Sheriff Caleb Conley was shot and killed during a traffic stop on I-75. Again we ask the question, “Where is the nationwide anger and outrage when a police officer is murdered?” https://t.co/8GWRLwZeOF
A picture of resilience, toughness and triumph. Congratulations to BPD Officer Rachel McGuire who finished the 127th #BostonMarathon in a time of 4:14. What a difference a decade can make. #BostonStrong
Two more police officers shot. Trying to take an extremely violent offender off the streets. Thankfully, the officers are expected to recover. But, again we ask, where is the nationwide anger, outrage and condemnation when bad people hurt, harm and try to murder police officers?
For the grace of God, a police officer wasn’t killed. We say it all the time. The disrespect and physical violence directed towards police officers must stop and elected officials need to echo the message. It’s never okay to hurt or harm police officers.
TWO NEWTON POLICE OFFICERS ATTACKED SATURDAY NIGHT AND PUNCHED IN BACK OF THEIR HEADS. ONE OFFICER TEMPORARILY KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS AFTER RESPONDING TO A 911 CALL; OFFICERS FORCED TO STRUGGLE WITH SUSPECT AFTER SUSPECT ATTEMPTED TO UNHOLSTER THEIR DUTY WEAPONS.
Here’s a thought. Maybe the oversight office isn’t getting the foot traffic they had hoped for because the police misconduct and misbehavior they promised to address isn’t nearly as widespread or rampant as they had originally thought. https://t.co/1o9WWHn1pN
By the grace of God, a BPD Officer is alive tonight after being fired upon multiple times by a deranged individual who ambushed our officer as he sat in an unmarked cruiser. Suspect is in custody. But the violence directed at our officers must stop. https://t.co/NpnUDk7Y36
UPDATE: The town clerk is printing emergency paper ballots for voters to use while work crews continue to work on the vault. Paper ballots will be identical to machine-readable ballots, but will need to be hand-counted at the end of the night.
NOTICE: A mechanical issue with the town clerk's vault has delayed the opening of the polls in the Town of Barnstable
Emergency workers are on site working to resolve the issue ASAP.
Today we remember and honor U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. May their sacrifice and service never be forgotten. 🙏
After a day of work, I tracked down this guy who was training - with uniform, boots and all I got to show @mazzie_nick that there’s still some athleticism in this mid 50s body ! 💪🏻 🏈#oldguysrule
On @BosPublicRadio, @maura_healey says Everett city councilor Anthony DiPierro should step down after using racist language. "He should resign. People like that should not be serving in office. It’s quite simple." Background here via @StephanieEbbert: https://t.co/EQZPgGebUH
Enough is enough! Our officers deserve and demand better. We’re down over 400 cops. Doing more with less remains a recipe for disaster. We need to hire more officers and we need to do it now before another officer gets hurt, injured, or, God forbid, worse.”
Larry Calderone: “Over the last several months, we’ve had officers attacked, shot and stabbed. The disregard for their safety has never been higher. Talk from elected officials about defunding police has emboldened bad behavior and criminals who think it’s okay to harm our cops.”
As Chair of Pub Health, & co-sponsor of Hearing to Address Public Health Declaration, I am happy the City has lifted the proof of vax req based on our public health data. Transparency in govt is crucial & we will continue to monitor the data as we make our decisions.
