Love this! Making student thinking visible and empowering students to make choices in their learning are research-based practices to increase motivation and achievement.
I ask students a daily “attendance question” via Google Classroom.
Once every two weeks the question is, “What would you like Mr. O to know?”
I cannot recommend strongly enough that teachers give their students this opportunity.

@MrNunesteach Be as patient, kind, and compassionate as you want our teachers to be for our students. Modeling matters. But so does making sure our teachers are okay right now.
Root for people. Help them reach their goals. Be kind. Be happy for others.
Life is already hard enough. Help others. Lift them up.
It won’t just change their life, it’ll change yours too.

If we want to see a more peaceful world, we have to learn to collaborate. Young people shouldn’t follow previous patterns of behaviour. New conditions, like our interdependent, globalised world, require new ideas. Dividing people into ‘us’ and ‘them’ is out of date.
