@maxfresim @canteach Make no mistake, I blame Ford and his government. Toronto is suffering but the people suffering the most can’t afford cottages in Muskoka. And my dislike of Toronto came way before the pandemic.
I used to have wonderful, imaginary adventures here as a child. The Castle on the rock: Uniquely Thessalon: A Historical Journey: North of Huron. https://t.co/bp9CABHz4B
.@fordnation's claim that #Ontario's 3rd wave of #COVID19 was driven by our porous borders is simply untrue—this was caused by re-opening in early February against scientific advice.
Also, to date just 1.6% of Ontario's #COVID19 cases were travel-related: https://t.co/MAZxXjzKwV
@breakfasttv No. I live in in the north & we’ve seen a ridiculous # of people here from the south throughout the pandemic. They want a “change of scenery”. Of course most of us are forced to go to work in non-essential workplaces so is there even much point to the stay-at-home order?
@kimaenglish I ended up the ER of a very small hospital in northern Ontario once. Told the locum doctor to go away and bring me back the nurse so I could get decent care.
If you are sad that Prime Day has been cancelled in Canada you should be outraged like never before at Amazon which does not provide essential protections like a living wage or paid sick days even during #COVID19... all while Jeff Bezos makes $2,537 per second.
Clarification: Amazon Prime Day won't happen in Canada this year because our system prioritizes making Jeff Bezos $152,000 per minute over providing paid sick leave and a livable wage to protect the lives of essential workers, even in a pandemic.
Friendly reminder: The best way to respect teachers and nurses, is to vote for people that value their work as much as you do.
