if i ever got married i would use the reception as an opportunity to just play every song i’ve ever liked. no theme, no vibe. just me being like “omg i love this one” for two hours
How lucky am I to have such a love for my career I never feel like I am ‘working’. The love I have taking care of patients is just something I could never describe.
@DrRupaMarya I loveeede epic. A lot of travel nurses ask for hospitals that use epic too. Once you figure out how to set up your screen and navigate it- it’s the best.
Got a text from a recent patients wife tonight that he finally made it home from rehab after his ICU stay where he fought for his life. She sent a video of him being reunited with his dogs after almost 2 months away from them. I couldn’t stop crying. This is why.
@SognoAmico@fuzzymittens Do people really keep count of these things? I’ve lost count honestly. I am experienced with managing difficult airways if that’s what you’re hinting at. I don’t think they need a play by play but I know when to speak up about the vital signs!
I have wondered all day if it’s Friday or Saturday in my head. Finally looked at my phone to find out it’s Thursday. These hospital shifts have me so backwards.
I guarantee you if people lived this reality with us on the inside not from a short window visit or zoom call, they’d start respecting us again. Let them in the rooms. Let them don the PPE. Let them see their loved one gasping for air on the highest 02 asking for the vax.
I can’t believe I ever took a deep breath thinking the worst was over with Delta. Every single time I say it can’t get worse than this, I am humbled. I’m thankful for the job security but we already didn’t have staff before we made random places in the hospital into more beds.
Just because you might not die from it, doesn’t mean someone you spread it to won’t. No one thinks it will be them or their loved once. Get VACCINATED. I can’t tell you how many people I have taken care of that regret not getting it & lose the battle or have long term damage.
I was thinking this morning before work this variant isn’t as bad as Delta. HA! I got a huge slap of reality when I spent my first 4 hrs at work intubating & bagging a young pt for an hour and a half with another RN waiting for him to be cannulated for ECMO bc his O2 was so low.
