At the end of last year a lot of us had plans. Better habits, new skills, real change. New year energy was at an all time high and the vision boards were looking good.
Most of it died before January was even over.
Not judging. Mine did too.
4 months doesn't sound like a lot but think about it. In just 4 months wars have been ongoing, life has been happening at full speed, the world hasn't slowed down for anybody. In 2 more months it'll be halfway through the year.
The question is, what did you actually do with the time you had?
@Emmysoft_Tm That app is fucking slow ππ well maybe it changed but latency there was one of the highest Iβve seen in high scale apps but itβs all could have use go π₯²

IS THIS THING ON? (Founders Edition) ποΈ
Building products is exciting, but behind every launch are lessons, challenges, late nights, tough decisions, and moments where founders had to keep going when things weren't working.
Tonight, we'll be hearing directly from builders who are doing the work and turning ideas into real products.

@adelbucetta Exactly, if youβre able to make reach and have a handful of people signup and they can produce revenue your startup could grow without investors, itβll just maybe grow slower than when there is enough funding for marketing and all that comes with building a startup
I feel this depends on the type of startup. There are some startups that canβt work without investment edutech, social media, or any product that needs a high volume of active users before bringing returns.
If your product can make profits even with a 100 users then bootstrapping and organic marketing would be great to make it fly
No matter how valid your startup idea is, if you have no investors, your startup will die.
People hate hearing this, but that's the reality of building companies.
OpenAI had a great idea. Facebook had a great idea. Yet neither of them grew beyond their early stages on the strength of the idea alone.
They needed funding to hire talent, build infrastructure, scale distribution, and buy enough time for the vision to become reality.
Most startups don't fail because the idea is bad. They fail because they run out of money before the idea has a chance to work.
In startups, a great idea is not enough. Capital is what keeps the idea alive long enough to win.
Good day builders
So Iβve been considering if I should build the Android version of my app or continue creating publicity for the iOS version.
But my troubles is that most of the people I know and most of my audience in my social media are Android users, and even times when I try to convince people some end up being Android users, even if the people who have reached out to me.
I know theyβre a lot of iOS users out there but at this point Iβm not making real progress yet in getting them to even download the app.
I want to know if I should just stick to what Iβve been doing or build the android version too and see how it goes
Dear @mipsytipsy...how do I get my leaders to stop running teams into the ground? In this first issue of Charity Majors' advice column, Charity helps a senior staff engineer navigate one of the hardest problems in software engineering: right-sizing work when leadership is asking you to push past your capacity.
