"The Kingdom of God turns the world’s power structures upside down. It exalts the humble, lifts the broken, and calls the mighty to serve rather than to be served."
- E Stanley Jones
Two lab leaks causing mass infections have been reported in two months: a lab leak causing African swine fever virus infections in Spain, and a lab leak causing Newcastle disease virus infections in China.
Virology labs leak like sieves.
This madness needs to end.
I was very hesitant to post
but my family and I are going through the hardest days of our lives…
Our home was bombed two days ago, and we were forced to flee.
We now live under extremely harsh conditions. No aid reaches us, prices are unbearable,
and I’m responsible for paying rent and providing for my family’s needs.
The burden is becoming too much to carry.
I hope whoever sees this tweet can share it

@TheOvercomerMag It's common to experience happy, positive, joyful empathy, too, where you see someone experiencing something good and it makes you happy along with them, as well.
Almost everyone (and many social species) experiences various types of empathy regularly.
@TheOvercomerMag If you've ever seen someone suffering and it made you also feel pain to see it, that was you experiencing empathy. Christians should not call that God-given reaction evil.
@TheOvercomerMag Musk's coming at it politically but so is the overall cultural push against empathy which has infected Christian discourse. Generosity is another word not mentioned in the Bible. Doesn't mean it's bad.
Empathy exists like gravity (also unmentioned in the Bible) exists. (1/2)
@TheOvercomerMag All of your complaints about the concept of empathy are equally applicable to sympathy, & nobody is using either word to redefine biblical virtues.
This modern anti-empathy push is just an outgrowth of Ayn Rand's "altruism is evil" agenda now pushed by people like Musk.
@TheOvercomerMag It means *understanding* what they feel. It does not mean taking it on as your own.
Why don't you complain about "sympathy" as a concept? It's an equally unBiblical word.
@TheOvercomerMag Empathy (and sympathy) don't mean you have to adopt and own a perspective as your own. That's just a culture wars-driven boogieman version of those concepts.
Empathy as a word is usually most applicable when you can relate because you've been through something similar.
@TheOvercomerMag Empathy is just a different word for compassion and love. The Golden Rule is empathetic - imagining things from someone else's POV.
There's nothing unChristian about putting yourself in someone else's shoes.
@TuckerCarlson The NHS works way, way better than the US "system."
We have half a million or more people per decade die from lack of being able to afford healthcare here.
There are things a sole member of Congress can do, like file a lawsuit cutting off aid to Israel bc it is an illegal nuclear proliferator.
Grant Smith did that several years ago, but was told he as head of a think tank didn’t have standing.
But a member of Congress does have standing. You should file such a historic lawsuit asap.
