I try not to overexplain my art, but I also want to be clear: the thing being satirised here is the victim-blaming, dehumanising way that the death of addicts is spoken about. It's grotesque & voyeuristic & meant to be uncomfortable to highlight that.

@golddustcowboy It's meant to - it's satirising the flippancy & disregard people have towards the passing of addicts. Intended to juxtapose the tragedy & grotesqueness of the death with the degrading, victim-blaming way they tend to get spoken about.

@vulsux I'm sorry for your loss :( I've had the same experience with people I knew too. The flippant way people who died of OD/other drug related causes are talked about really irks me, & that's what I wanted to comment on here.

Very bittersweet to be gay sometimes. Sal Mineo was my Nana's cousin. We were just talking about him together. Murdered in the 70's for his sexuality. I would've loved to get to meet him.
