& thatโs a wrap! we did it! during a pandemic ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ I couldnโt have done it without the help of my amazing cohort. I am forever grateful for the knowledge & friends I gained over the past 15 months.
A2: find a dang HOBBY! We need to disconnect now more then ever! I have found it even harder now that I am working remotely, to disconnect; tips welcome! #CultureED
A4: you know, honestly zoom is a great way to connect quickly. sometimes throughout this crazy time, I have felt more connected through zoom than I have when I taught in self-contained classrooms #CultureED
A5: create self-fulfilling boundaries that you arenโt willing to cross, connect with fellow colleagues for support, and most importantly, remember- YOU ARE NOT IN THIS ALONE #CultureED
A1: exhaustion has a new definition during distance learning. It doesnโt matter if you have 145 students or 24... our jobs have drastically changed & we are learning a whole new skill set to teach in distance learning. Educators need to stick together, others need to understand
@TigerMolly11@AdamBrownEDU Wow Molly, props to you... I donโt know how you do it, but somehow you do. Just remember how lucky your students are to have someone dedicated to their learning. Remember the outcome. Youโve got this ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
My @ODUMonarchLEAD Ss developed proposed Micro-Credential PL opportunities that they felt teachers might benefit from the most in today's setting. Please vote for what MicroPL you would take. Retweet for Self-Care, Like for Twitch Teach. Let's see who wins. Please share out!
#RogueSPED A12: I believe that determining a childโs LREA should be a similar process (if necessary) to that of an SST process. Data drives placement and supports. Placement and supports drive #STUDENTSUCCESS.
#RogueSPED A10: In order for a child to be successful with the General Ed curriculum, it is imperative that they are placed in their LRE. That will support their access and success with the general Ed curriculum.
#RogueSPED A9: the LRE (least restrictive environment) is where a student is successful in a particular setting. Some students just might need some push in supports and/or accommodations while others might need moments outside of the GE classroom. Each childโs LRE is different.
#RogueSPED A5: AS MUCH DATA AS POSSIBLE. students who go through our SST process have at least 6 weeks of data taken on them to determine if the supports given help the student access the curriculum or if the next step might need to be a 504 or an IEP assessment.
#RogueSPED A4: specialized instruction for each individual student. Allowing each student to access the curriculum at their level. An opportunity for all students to learn. Also, SPED teachers are ROCKSTARS, just saying #teamSPED
#RogueSPED A3: In VBCPS we had a gifted resource teacher that would assess students with an actual assessment to determine if they were eligible for gifted services.
