The first 6MW #wind turbine - the largest to date in Australia - has been installed in what will be the biggest wind project in NSW https://t.co/s2OeINFuZ0
#Origin says renewables aren't being built fast enough and coal plant closures might need to be delayed, and get compensation for the costs of staying open https://t.co/Ch5uxt1ZiB
Renewables supplied nearly 40% of total electricity generated in WA’s WEM last week, also setting a new instantaneous renewables record of 81% on Saturday, up 1.3% from the previous record. At the time, rooftop PV was estimated to contribute over 61% of underlying demand.
Dropping almost 5.5% from the previous record (25 Sept 2022), a new minimum demand record of 11,892 MW was set in the NEM at 11am (AEST) on Sunday. At the time, renewable generation contributed 67% of underlying demand, of which 45% was rooftop solar.

Today, for the first time, instantaneous generation (30 min period I believe?) by renewables passed 2/3rds of the NEM.
And at that point, residential solar was more than all fossil generation combined.
Celebrate every milestone towards 100% & beyond! 👊🏻

Updated: Renewables set multiple new records for instantaneous share on Friday, with #wind and #solar also posting records and relegating #coal to new low. https://t.co/Zp51vHC807
Our study with @ARENA_aus exploring use of a thermal battery to power a steam turbine is one of the first of its kind in Australia!
It's also a step forward for future studies on how thermal batteries can be rolled out as an energy solution for commercial & industrial customers.
AEMO’s QED report for Q3 2022 shows NEM wholesale electricity spot prices remained at near record levels with an average $216 per megawatt-hour (MWh), over three times higher than Q3 2021, but slightly down from Q2 2022 levels. https://t.co/7P7X2eeMMb
