Who is we?
There are 331.9 million people in the United States.
Of that number, 170,000 voted for you.
Therefore, you “represent” 0.0512048193% of the country’s population.
And yet you seem to think that you speak for some nebulous “we”.
But here is the truth about that:
You speak for the least educated.
You speak for the most racist.
You speak for those who believe that some moronic, melon-hued messiah is a “man of the people”, when really they’re just seeing what they want to see in him because he makes them feel that in their ever so small and meaningless existences, that their whiteness is enough to make them “special”.
He validates the dark thoughts they used to have to hide from view.
That “others” are coming for their jobs, their wives, their kids, their freedumb.
That based ONLY on the color of their skin that they were born with some sort of disproportionate advantage over others.
That are right to feel “threatened” by anyone who looks different, votes different, dresses different, lives and loves different.
That the “real America” is white, Christian, heterosexual and male or female from birth.
That men could rule over the choices women and girls make about their own bodies.
That being poor & uneducated is someone else’s “fault”.
That owning a weapon that could liquefy a human being in a millisecond is a right granted to them “by God himself”.
You speak for the worst of humanity, Marge.
The kinds of people who would sooner burn the whole damn country down to the ground than ever see us evolve as an increasingly inclusive society.
You don’t speak for anyone who truly believes in the promise of America. You don’t speak for anyone who sees that we are imperfect, and knows that change, while often difficult and often painful, is indeed possible.
You don’t speak for anyone who understands that this country is, as President Carter said - “a mosaic”.
And you sure as shit do not speak for me.
It’s a sign of strength, not weakness to admit you need help.
Too many people feel too ashamed to admit as much.
It takes courage to acknowledge your struggles, and it takes bravery to share your truth with the world.
My heart goes out to the entire Fetterman family right now. ❤️

So, Republicans believe the government CAN’T control what they can cook on, it but it CAN control what a woman does with her own uterus?
Do I have that about right?
