TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT: The wait is over and we are extremely excited to be welcoming our 700+ guests from the #HR & people profession in Scotland to the @HrNETWORKNews National Awards 2022 in partnership with @Roffeypark. #Recognise. #Acknowledge. #Reward.
I want to see more women in leadership positions.
To women who are already in places of influence, keep the door open for others. To women who are just starting out, be inspired by the successes of those who have gone ahead.
Happy International Women's Day!

Tuckman's stages of team development is one of the classic models. Okay, teams don't necessarily go through every stage in linear sequence but it helps us understand that, as leaders, we can't put a new team together & expect it to be instantly high performing. Thanks @Haypsych
We can't predict how the future will be so we must be ready for multiple different futures. That's why adaptability is such a core capability for leaders & organisations. Here's a fantastic blog & graphic based on the recent @McKinsey article: https://t.co/iAcKELk6q1 TY @tnvora
Learning & improvement are not "nice-to-have" or a bolt-on. Organisations that excel at improvement understand they're part of everyone's daily work. We need a culture of experimentation where we're constantly trying new things & if they fail, that's okay. Graphic: @anujmagazine
It’s an enormous pleasure to have been asked to be one of the judges for this year’s #ScotHealthAwards.

Thank you to all our midwives @NHS_Shetland for the work you do everyday & the positive impact that you have in helping babies to have the best start in life. You are such innovators & play a key role in our ambition to reduce health inequalities in Shetland. #IDM2021 @CNOScot
If we want deeply engaged people across our organisations, we need to unleash the most important factor in building the culture we want: our managers. If our managers aren't engaged, the rest of our people won't be either: https://t.co/kZxlSZESO1 #100RepeatTweets no. 88 #ProjectM
Three truths about progress:
1) Rarely linear and often deceptive: sometimes peaks hit when you least expect them; same goes for valleys.
2) Demands patience AND willingness to change; a plan and roadmap AND adaptability.
3) Runs on action yet requires rest.
Simple path to achieve big goals:
1) Define the process, or the steps it will take to get to the goal.
2) Focus on nailing those steps, day in and day out.
3) Understand some days will be better than others; just the way it goes.
4) Keep showing up. Eventually you get there.
