Sharks are one of the misunderstood creatures. Sharks do not hunt humans. Most “attacks” on humans are actually mistakes that are due to poor water visibility (which are mainly caused by humans) or inquisitive bites.

Came across this Surfers’ Code at Maroubra beach during our field trip! Reminder: Be aware of the flags and signs that surround us on the beach. Make sure to swim between the red and yellow flags and if you get pulled by the current, swim parallel with land, never go against it.

Without fish, we wouldn’t have whales, puffins, or other loveable species. They are the building blocks of the marine ecosystem, and they are disappearing fast.

@Loren_unsw It’s so important to use reusable water bottles! It may not seem that beneficial in the short run, but in the long even just saving one water bottle a day makes a huge difference!

It’s very important to make sure we are recycling and putting our trash where it belongs. The water is stunningly clear and which not only makes it beautiful, but improves the health of the Marine animals in the water.
