Twitter wanted to be the town square for the internet, but that takes serious responsibility—something impossible to have when you’re owned by the very same element that destroyed your platform. Will truly miss what this was, but come find me again (it’s right under your trunk!)
@kyrstensinema did this for one reason: she knew she would lose the ‘24 primary. Being an independent makes it impossible for a Democrat to run, as that would ensure a GOP win in the general. Shrewd and kinda cowardly, if you ask me. Even more of a reason to get rid of her.
Is Biden too old to run for re-election? Who cares. The question we should really be asking is why we limit YOUNG people from holding office. An 18-year-old is somehow mature enough to die for and defend America, but isn’t mature enough to make the actual decision to go fight?
Nothing drives me battier than the pointless Fetterman debate analysis. Under no circumstance is someone going to go, “Well, I really like Fetterman’s policies and politics, but I’m gonna throw away all my beliefs and pick Oz because he’s, like, healthier.”
@IskandarBwefar@SparkMailApp This. I love Spark, but how do you come out of the gate not supporting dark mode? Also, ditching the three panel view is NUTS. macOS isn’t iOS. We have larger screens so that we can see more data. I’m extremely disappointed with this release.
You’re like those people in a movie theater that ask, out loud, “Why did that character do that???” before the movie explains itself literally five minutes later.
America’s mind-boggling cycle:
1. The GOP destroys institutions.
2. Democrats regain power, only to be hamstrung by how weakened institutions have become.
3. Public gets angry about ineffectiveness of government, and votes GOP back into power.
4. The GOP destroys institutions.
Good work, anti-abortion weirdos—you’ve just made expanding the courts a major, mainstream platform that Democrats can gleefully run on. Thanks for all your help!
Overturning Roe isn’t just cruel, it’s stupid. The extreme right has been chasing this car for decades, but they really don’t see how pyrrhic this victory is. They’ve given us a colossal advantage and have all but assured each and every policy item we want now. Thanks, dummies.
The key to winning against the extremist right is to call out their bullshit and stop playing their game. Hammer home how weak and ineffectual they are at helping real people, and make clear how sad their bad faith arguments are. Use powerful offense, since they have NO defense.
Guns are actually dangerous, and their function is to wound and kill living things. Wanting them regulated is a normal and reasonable expectation. If you can’t seriously question the 2nd amendment, and can’t fathom why firearms should come with rules, congrats: YOU’RE the weirdo.
Can we end the fucking fantasy that “good guys with guns” will are the antidote to gun crime? I’ll let you in on a secret: those “good guys” haven’t been stopping shit.
@catturd2 They began brewing attacks of all kinds as soon as the Twitter acquisition was announced.
In my 30 year career, including the entire MeToo era, there’s nothing to report, but, as soon as I say I intend to restore free speech to Twitter & vote Republican, suddenly there is …
@ModernVintageG LOVE your videos, especially the ones about how graphics work on various consoles. Are you planning on doing one about the PC Engine/Turbo? Graphics on that system vary wildly between games. I’m super interested in how scrolling works (or doesn’t, in many cases)
How come when people are vaguely disappointed with the slow progress under their left wing leader, the next election sees them seriously consider a far-right option who couldn’t possibly make ANY progress at all?
What Amazon will try to do: Blame unions for the price of things going up on Amazon.
What they won’t do: Admit to customers that exploiting and over-relying on underpaid labor is how we got those artificially low prices in the first place.
Congrats to the Staten Island crew!
