If you want to be at peace within your soul, this is what your approach needs to be. Unforgiveness only hurts you, not them. They prob aren't even thinking about you!

When Jesus talked to the woman at the well, he exercised a healthy version of diversity. Cultural barriers said that a man shouldn't talk to a single woman alone. They also forbade a Jew from having interaction with a Samaritan because they were considered racially impure.

When most of your preaching references your denomination or some dead white guy from 200 or 300 years ago, more than the name of Jesus, your priorities are wrong, and you're preaching a distorted gospel. Christianity is what Jesus and the Apostles said, not your religion.

We need to stop looking at people as problems and start seeing them as people who have problems. I don't know of anyone who got saved by someone yelling at them what a horrible sinner they were. They need answers, not condemnation. Speak the truth in love. ❤️

If you are born into the kingdom of God, Satan can not stop you. He can weaken you if you let him. He can get you off course if you let him. He can get you to quit if you give up. But he can't do anything TO YOUR FAITH unless you let him.

People were drawn to Jesus' message. How many people are drawn to fundamentalist churches? Most of their growth comes from kids that were raised in their churches, not from the unchurched coming to Jesus. That's because their message isn't the same as what Jesus preached.

People on the left emphasize compassion but at the expense of righteousness. People on the right emphasize righteousness at the expense of compassion. A balanced approach emphasizes both. That's how Jesus taught us to live.

We all relate to God differently. I don't get why some people worship the way they do. I may have an opinion, but who am I to judge? The problem with the fundys on the far right are that they think their way is the only way. That's how the Pharisees were also. Think about it.

The Saturday between the crucifixion and the resurrection must have been really difficult for the disciples. I'm sure they were confused. Jesus was dead and they were probably wondering if it was all for nothing. This is when our faith really matters.

There are those of us who have deconstructed, not because we don't believe or refuse to be obedient to scripture, but because we are no longer welcome in church because we aren't conservative or refuse to follow a narrow interpretation of scripture.

Jews don't believe Jesus is Messiah. I'm not offended. Muslims believe Jesus was just a prophet. I'm not offended. Atheists don't even believe God exists. I'm not offended. I say "Christ is King" and the whole world loses its mind. Nevertheless, I'm not offended.

As Christians, let's shift our focus from events to community. Let concentrate on making connections with people rather than putting on a show, the next conference, or giving campaign. The church should be about people more than the events we participate in.

Reformed theology is like being married to a nagging wife. It's just someone repeating the problem over and over but never offering a solution. Jesus didn't do that. He set people free. He preached the answer, not the problem.

The kingdom of God is not a democracy. It's a kingdom, with a king who makes the rules. It's not a buffet either where we can cherry-pick what we like or don't like. If you don't want to be a Christian, so be it. The door is always open if you change your mind.

Christians don't kill their children regardless of their stage of development. Our sexuality is limited to the scriptures' definition of marriage. This is our moral sexual ethic. Forcing this on others is when this becomes a problem. We are to be an example, not dictators.

If you have to compromise your integrity to keep your "ministry" going, you're no longer walking with God. His power and favor are no longer with you. If you're not careful, one day, the Lord will no longer be walking with you and you won't even realize it.

Everything we do and say either glorifies the name of Jesus or disparages it. We are the ones that "hallow" God's name (His reputation), or we "take his name in vain" (treat it like nothing). God's name has more to do with how we represent him than the use of profanity.

If the reformed, fundamentalist crowd lived during Jesus' time, the thief on the cross would be in hell, the woman caught in adultery would have been stoned to death and the gospel wouldn't be preached in Samaria because Jesus refused to talk to the woman at the well.
