#LCS3EP4 η¨ε sugar compilation π¬
i really felt like cursing out the puppy yesterday but after thinking about it a bit more, here's a few observations:
1) the two of them were standing off to the side before CXS stepped out to greet XF, so CXS stayed next to LG while he was probably wiping away tears and tidying himself up
2) immediately after, CXS jumped into banter with XF (this kind of a lighthearted comic relief scene after a serious moment has become the norm since S2) but the second LG said he was sleepy and wanted to go upstairs to rest, CXS whipped his head around so fast and looked at him with concern
3) when LG said XF can stay at the photo studio, i was expecting CXS to chime in and agree; instead, he looked straight at LG and asked, "is [XF] sleeping in the same bed as you, or with me?" uh... isn't that a question you'd ask the guest? i thought CXS might offer up his own bed, saying he and XF could squeeze in together being best bros and all, but he was actually questioning LG - asking if he really didn't mind sharing a bed with XF... is someone jealous?? LG just walked off without answering but thankfully QL-jie saved the day and took XF to another room or else i can imagine CXS would seriously be whining about it
4) back in their room, CXS teased the cat as though he was hoping to hear LG nag at him again. they had just argued downstairs not long ago - he'd lost his temper and raised his voice, making LG cry so pitifully... wasn't CXS acting stupid on purpose now just so he could make LG smile and lighten the mood between them? he wanted the cat to show its usual 'disdain' for him and call him childish, rather than putting pressure on LG to talk about what had just happened
5) even though CXS was truly exhausted, he still mentioned that he had long noticed LG was harboring many secrets and that LGβs mature and composed demeanor seemed to stem from the fact that he knew so much. his attempt to broach the subject was very subtle - though, unfortunately, he fell asleep before hearing LGβs answer (sorry, but i will never forgive him for this.)
+ bonus
in that bridon flashback scene, CXS was clearly keeping a close eye on LG while at WQβs office, thatβs why, the moment he realized LG was in trouble, he rushed over and shoved Vein aside without a second thought.
it's not like CXS doesn't care about LG, but the lack of information, poor timing, and just their overall relationship dynamic has gotten in the way of good communication. these two have never seriously argued and talked it out before. CXS is likely reluctant to discuss the matter directly because he doesn't want to make LG cry again and it's obvious by now that all his silly antics are just meant to cheer LG up.
of course, communication is the best solution but i feel like this is exactly what's going to remain out of their reach this season. CXS knows that LG is keeping something from him but i think that because of extraneous circumstances, they are destined to walk on separate paths, just as the S3 poster foreshadowed. when CXS finally learns the full truth about LG, he will be consumed by guilt and will reproach himself for the immense hurt his earlier cavalier attitude caused LG.
this show has always been about mutual salvation and redemption. as we already saw in the OP and the ED, and not to mention how CXS appeared at the train tracks to meet babyguang in EP1, CXS is going to witness all of LG's pain firsthand. by the end of the season, all the events that are now breaking our hearts as viewers will inflict pain on him a thousand times over.
