@JoshuaSheats hey Josh, in the beginning of episode 237 you mention that the future of the world will all be self employed. Can you speak more about that?
@ThrottledShow do you think maybe cars are immoral because other forms of transportation could be safer? I.e. planes, trains, buses. What about carpooling? One would imagine that is safer, but no, car drivers ALSO value the mental benefits that come with a vehicle of choice.
@kbreuner@chrisrobley It seems like a poor indicator if general users are unable to see the difference in following or not following. I suppose Spotify would account for this. I doubt any users are making the A to B following an artist will affect their release radar if they even know what R.R. is.
@JoshuaSheats I'm surprised, considering your podcasts are about following your passions and that "pursuing your dreams" is quite often 1 in the same with becoming a singer, actor, or entertainer in our culture. People always approach me with, "I'm so happy you are following your dreams" and
@JoshuaSheats do you have any financial advice or podcasts geared towards artists/musicians? On subjects like working fixed income jobs to fund the career vs the LA relocation waiting tables approach, taxes, and philosophical commentary on the struggling musician.
@JoshuaSheats Language is powerful so it definitely dilutes your message if you bring in controversial topics as supplementary supporting information. But nonetheless was important to talk about
@JoshuaSheats Definitely should have left the ending, only argument against leaving it was the hot take without using a more universal source of evidence haha.
@JoshuaSheats Makes sense. I am missing the connection between homosexuality and immorality. Is it that it threatens human existence? Is it that it opposes the bible? Is it that it takes a parent's right to grandchildren? What defines immorality and what part of homosexuality fits the bill?
@JoshuaSheats You mentioned angry listeners, I assure you I am not one of them. Moral ambiguity and ungrounded virtue due to a loose upbringing have been one of my greatest challenges in life. I soak in everything I can. 23 and still laboriously writing my book of truth.
@JoshuaSheats Aside from your stances on the subject earlier in the episode, I did not let it taint the valuable lessons the rest of the podcast offered. I think this one is my favorite. Thank you for your honesty and diligence on the matters.
@JoshuaSheats Didn't quite understand how homosexuality compared to thievery, greed, etc. I do think you were directionally right with regards to the paradox of sexual freedom and how it is both lauded and condemned using contradictory moral laws. Anyhow, I am interested in further logic.
@JoshuaSheats im on episode 500 and no way, I started a spotify playlist and instagram for local musicians. Theres a disconnect between local musicians. Being a musician myself, I have found that it's not only fun but it gives me an excuse to say hi to everyone in my industry!
