17-1 in testing games vs Kennen (never lost going second 7 times in a row)
new riven iteration has potential
T2 Riven on your T1 unit with a hidden Stranger is nasty. But do not get cute without Defy or Gust in hand. That Gust/Switcheroo crackback will dick you.
If they commit to it and you catch them with the answer it feels fucking free afterward.
I’ve liked having more bullshit purple goodstuff in the list and haven’t missed Sneaky. Also, Hunters’ Circle in the picture is a proxy for Valley of Idols.
Late game, Stranger under Heron +1 is nasty. Flip it for the bounce, Star-Crossed in the same turn, then just play Stranger again next turn.
Don’t forget that Stranger’s on-play lets you pick a battlefield. Stranger doesnt need to be at the battlefield you pick if you are playing it from hand. If they’re trying to hold a battlefield with 4+ total units, sometimes I’ll Gust my flipped Stranger and replay it to bounce one of theirs.
Song vs green deckd also gets to do some nice shit. If they move in and Charm you after the conquer, you can send their unit back to base or into a battlefield you’ve set up to kill it and score.
Charms aren’t necessarily free picks for them.
I was DQ'd at RQ LA for lying to a judge, not for deck manipulation.
A floor judge said they saw me pile shuffle my runes vs my rengar opp in round 2. At the start of round 3 I presented my runes for cut without shuffling them at all, which was just careless. When a judge asked if I'd shuffled them, I said no and started to, and he told me to stop.
The judges asked if I knew pile shuffling alone isn't enough for the rune deck. I explained to them I genuinely did not. Because of my experience with this game and other card games, they didn't believe me and ruled that I'd lied to them.
I also understand that judges have an incredibly difficult job and have to make decisions based on the information in front of them. I put myself in a situation where they had to make that decision because I was sloppy with something I should have been much more careful about.
I don't agree that I lied, but I accept the DQ.
I didn't stack my runes. I was careless with the randomization of my rune deck, and that's on me.
Went 6-0 with Heron Leona at the Regional Rebound.
Pretty wild run, list isn't even close to perfect, felt a lot of issues in my games
Dispite beating two leblancs I think the matchup is actually pretty bad.
Definitely considering Leona for Germany.
Post Ban tier list going into RQ LA this week-end
I didn't want to take the easy route and jam 8 decks in A tier, so I split them 2/4/4
Went over my thoughts in details for each deck below.
Jayce is extremely powerful, very resilient and fairly consistent, the difference maker compared to past Aurora decks is how good he is at dealing with the different answers people have for him, as well as Arena's greatest not existing anymore, removing the almost auto loss game for Aurora decks.
LeBlanc generates a ton of value, and her worse match up that ran Star Crossed got hit badly in terms of consistency, helping her a ton. She also does pretty good into Jayce which helps a lot as he is the big deck right now.
Leblanc and Jayce are defining the format, if you can't deal with either, you're cooked
All 4 of the A tier decks are the somewhat strong purple decks, the main reason being that they have a shot / favored match up in some or both of the S tier decks.
In my opinion that make them worth considering, as for how to chose between them.
Irelia is overall the strongest imo, Green is a broken color and she is resilient and has access to the tools she need to deal with both combat decks and the two S tiers.
Kennen is the most consistent in finding Star crossed and his toolbox, downside being that he is a mono purple leader as yellow is completely useless of a color for him.
Kha is broken going first, pretty bad going second, he has an okay toolbox, probably the weakest of the 4 options as he struggles with card draw right now.
Diana is very good in my opinion, she can beat both S tier decks and is decent into the rest of the field. Big hit to her consistency though so building her is quite tricky now and people haven't adjusted.
Rengar is very strong, but loses to Jayce extremely hard, and isn't the best into LB and Irelia, but aside from that he is still a beast.
Azir is solid but can't be built to beat both LB and Jayce, he also gets worse because of more gear removal in most side board to combat Jayce.
Akali's match up spread got way worse, she used to farm Irelia and Kennen but lose to Jayce, dodging Jayce is now much harder, and LB also beats her.
Yi loses to Jayce and LB super hard, aside from that the deck is still broken.
Best of Lucian in Shenyang RQ. 3 best-of winning strike and I only play Riftbound since Set 3. Shoutout to @Banratedemontcg for the guide and replies. It really helps me.
Lucian is defin underdog in current meta. With Diana and EZ falls. He will pick up all the Akari.
