MIXTAPES WITH DJ’s NEED TO MAKE A HARD COME BACK! Hear me out.. places like LiveMixtapes and DatPiff were places you could drop your music with no penalties from the consumer. And you could drop as much as you wanted. The reason I feel like that was is because it didn’t cost the consumer to listen and these projects weren’t being held to the standard as an album or any all, people were just trying discover new music. In Simple terms it was like playing college basketball when dropping mixtapes and when you finally dropped your actual album it was like you went to the pro league. Most of the artists that are leading the culture TODAY came directly from MIXTAPES! I also feel like mixtapes gave you a chance to grow with the artist , I felt more connected with artist that I seen actually grow from mixtapes into making albums. Mixtapes is the solution to the problems we are having today I believe. I could go deeper on this topic but it’s already too much so I’ll end here. Also I do know that we have things like SoundCloud now but trust me it was nothing like the mixtape era at all.
