In this age of Brady and Mahomes, it feels like Joe Montana is somehow now historically "underrated." #FTTB

@5thDownCFB Fair point on the turf. I was, of course, speaking from a fan's perspective. There wasn't a bad seat in the house, including the upper deck. And it was LOUD.
From 1981 through the 1993 season, these 4 head coaches won 10 out of 13 Super Bowls. If you extend it through 1995 and include Walsh's and Johnson's successors (Seifert and Switzer), it comes to 13 out of 15. (The others: Tom Flores in '83, Mike Ditka in '85)
An incredible era.
@5thDownCFB Giants Stadium was built exclusively for football, and it was PERFECT. John Madden called it the best home stadium in the NFL. MetLife Stadium is a dull, uninspired monolith. The upper deck is 45 feet higher than the old stadium because corporate suites fill the mezzanine. Awful.
@RyanHyattMedia I refused to sharpen my Giants pencil. Didn't want to waste it. But I had no problem shredding the Cardinals and Buccaneers down to the nub.
Happy 76th Birthday, Lawrence McCutcheon!

The first Ram with back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons and one of only six non-quarterbacks to throw a touchdown pass in a Super Bowl

The great Raymond Berry has passed away at the age of 93. π
Voted one of the ten greatest WRs of the NFL's first 100 years, Berry and Johnny Unitas set the standard for QB-WR duos with the Colts of the 1950s and '60s. Berry also led the Patriots to Super Bowl XX as head coach.
