seems like this is where the rumor that the early spring was cut from 32 to 24 eps started. when the original script was only 16 eps lol

the registered ep in 2024 was 32 eps. later, Youku have introduced a new policy aiming for more high-quality/short-form dramas and the eps counts of many projects were basically cut in half. when filming started last year, the script was written for 16 eps. but the story had too much material, so during post-production it was eventually edited into 24 eps in order to get approval and the broadcasting license. otherwise, they simply couldn’t fit everything in.

anw, it’s really impressive for a drama to go from A to S+ .that probably explains why they’re only airing 1ep/day, squeezing every last drop of money and ad revenue out of it 😂
