Pending the official approval by the JSA board on Wednesday's special meeting, he will become the 74th Yokozuna.

The subject of this shot gun pod: the retiring Yokozuna, Terunofuji.
What a career! We hope we do the great man justice in a run down of his whole career!

@OnTheTopicPod I was always partial to Dexter's Laboratory and Ed Edd & Eddie
Its hard to talk about kids shows from the 90's without talking pokemon in 97. I would set the video recorder every morning to tape two episodes on sky 1 each morning, then watch them when I got home from school.

Having gained 15 pounds (7 kg) in August through diet and training, Ozeki Hoshoryu is at his highest weight--tipping the scales at 330 lbs (150 kg) --an increase of about 44 lbs (20 kg) since he was a new san'yaku two and a half years ago. (See photo.)
He now outweighs his uncle, Yokozuna Asashoryu, whose fighting weight was 320 lbs (146 kg).
Despite injuring his right adductor muscle on the 12th day of the Nagoya tournament and having to leave the tournament, the ozeki still earned kachi-koshi with a score of 9-4-2.
Missing all but the last three days of the jungyo tour, Hoshoryu took moshiai on August 31 at his Tatsunami home stable, working his way up from makushita-level rikishi to former san'yaku and current M-6 Meisei who was asked, "Is he still heavy?"
"He feels very heavy," replied the dependably impassive Meisei.
“I'm still lacking in practice,” said Hoshoryu, "but I'll make adjustments in the remaining days.
I think I'll be fine."
