Removing the entire $80/t carbon price expected to drop inflation one-time by 0.7 percentage points. Remember when professors of things other than math were telling you that a $15/t increase in the carbon price was a key cause of inflation in 2022 when the average rate was 6.8%?

@kammornanchor I've had quiet chats with a few Tories who may have come to the same conclusion as Alain Rayes, who left to sit as an independent 'Progressive Conservative' when Mr. Poilievre became leader. Mr. P treats his caucus like a class of grade 4's. - Gold Stars for 'being good'.

Well, that was a strange one. Much unpacking to do on the results of the general election, but given the nature and scope of the challenges Canada faces, it could just be that the Conservatives are relieved they don't have to actually follow through on their promises.

@AAnonymous80228 That's true, Annie. That's one of the reasons I've voted against the government on occasion. But when Conservatives voted multiple times against aid for Ukraine, it was (they said) due to Canada's conditions that they have a carbon tax. But they already had one.
