Permanent Secretary, MCCTI Mr. Babatunde Onigbanjo paid a visit to the Lagos State Cooperative College, LASCOCO, on Monday, 3rd February, 2025.
Received by the Provost, Dr. Walid Adebosin, management and staff, the PS congratulated Dr. Adebosin on the recent confirmation of his appointment by Mr Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, as the substantive Provost of the institution, tasking the management and staff to work with him to take the College to greater heights.
He charged the staff on the need to prioritise impartation of knowledge and imbibe values of discipline, as he urged them to always put in their best in the interest of the students and the College.

Convened under the theme “Advancing Safe Wastewater Services for a Sustainable Lagos,” LSWMO commenced its 3-day Strategic Residential Retreat at Hotel Inn, Oniru, Victoria Island, with a clear focus on strengthening policy direction, institutional alignment, and service performance.
The Retreat was formally declared open by the Hon. Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, whose remarks underscored the evolving mandate of LSWMO as a key driver of environmental governance - translating policy intent into measurable outcomes that protect lives, livelihoods and ecosystems.
In his welcome address, the General Manager, Engr. Adefemi Afolabi, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to aligning operational strategies with the State’s environmental laws and broader sustainability agenda.
Opening remark, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources, Engr. Mahmood Adegbite, underscored the importance of policy coherence, regulatory compliance, and inter-agency coordination in delivering effective wastewater governance.
Underscoring broad institutional support for improved wastewater governance in Lagos State, goodwill messages were received from key stakeholders including the Chairmen, House Committee on the Environment (Parastatals), and House Committee on the Environment (Ministry), Hon. Shabi Rasheed Adebola and Hon. Olanrewaju Suleiman Afinni; the Special Advisers to the Governor on the Environment and Water Resources as well as the Special Advisers to the Governor, Parastatals Monitoring Office, Engr. Olakunle Rotimi Akodu and Hon. Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro.
Further messages of support were delivered by the Permanent Secretary, Office of Environmental Services, Dr. Omobolaji Gaji; the Executive Secretary, LASWARCO, Mrs. Bukola Adeyemo; and other development partners, all reaffirming their commitment to strengthened regulatory oversight, institutional collaboration, and sustainable wastewater management across the State.
Technical sessions featured the presentation of the Wastewater Information Management System (WIMS) Online Payment Platform, implementation of the LSWMO Strategic Action Plan to improve public health, and a KPI evaluation framework to strengthen accountability and service delivery.
Proceedings concluded with presentations of the 2026 Operational Plan by Departments and Units, articulating a clear, results-oriented roadmap toward safer, smarter, and more sustainable wastewater management in Lagos State.
