Addendum: When inviting a Southerner for “barbecue,” you are stylistically and contractually obligated to serve “pulled pork.” If you are serving hot dogs and burgers, that’s a “cookout.” And if you are serving “grilled chicken,” you are ... serving grilled chicken, not barbecue.
The verb barbecue refers to the cooking of foods (usually meat) over flame or hot coals. As a noun, can be both the meat cooked in this manner or the fire pit (grill). Not barbeque, Bar-B-Q or BBQ.
Caitlin Clark=generational talent. Respect to her, Reese, Bueckers, etc. for elevating the game. But I’m tired of hearing about them now. Talk about Cardoso. Johnson. Kitts. Watkins. Paopao. Put some respect on their names and on #DawnStaley and undefeated @GamecockWBB. #Gamecock
@cstegmaier I myself love the sauce but have often wondered why it's so peculiarly popular here. @HannaRaskin did a couple of deep dives that help explain it: https://t.co/nKMh7BeTxx and https://t.co/oLBagAVonH
Never thought this day would come. Goodnight, you beautiful, bizarre, labyrinthine monolith smack-dab in the middle of a residential zone — you commingled pile of gloom and grandeur within walking distance of Zaxby's. May flights of quality anchor tenants sing thee to thy rest.
If the #Celtics pull off the unthinkable tonight, the 8-seeded Heat — who barely made the playoffs, then beat a No. 1 and No. 5 seed before taking the No. 2 seed to 7 games — should consider it a:
Breathtaking. Absolutely breathtaking. There is hope for our species after all. Unfortunately, the perfect tagline — "imagine the sauce-abilities" — is already taken (by Zaxby's). https://t.co/Ql8GOk7xKx
My daughter, pointing at me: “Dad! What … are … THOSE?!”
Me: “Shorts.”
Her: “I thought you said shorts were a poor fashion choice, especially for you?”
Me: “100%. But that was before I moved back to a ‘soup air’ climate. Also it’s laundry day. Also mind your own business, kid.”
Sure, it's overcast out there and, potentially, a little rainy — in other words, perfect beer-drinking and music-playing weather! Come cozy up with me and a pint today (Saturday, April 8) at @ObrionsPub on James Island. Music is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. See ya then! @ObrionsPubJI
Looking to kickstart your weekend? Come see me tomorrow (Friday, March 31) at #IndigoReef Brewing. I’ll be the intense bald guy in the cool leather jacket (unless it is actually 74 degrees outside like Alexa is telling me, in which case I’ll just be in a T-shirt and jeans).
"If ever I should wish for a retreat — whither I might steal from the world and its distractions, and dream quietly away the remnant of a troubled life — I know of none more promising than this. ..."
@CityCharleston in springtime. Man.
#HolyCity
Come see me tonight (Tuesday, March 21) at @RitasFollyBeach, for their “Bar Wars” competition. I’ll kick out the jams as bartenders from Rita’s sister bars duke it out for tops in the galaxy. Music is from 5:30-8:30. Hope to see y’all there! (“Do or do not; there is no ‘try.’”)
Music for those who want to absolutely petrify themselves into perpetual waking states. Gen Xers know the sheer terror this theme song inspires, to this very day. An all-timer in creepiness. Chills right down the spine, man.
When your family dog excitedly rushes over to the new “dog,” only to discover that it’s NOT a new dog at all, only a family member impersonating a dog …
Can’t stop laughing at how this went from adorable photo op to “side-eye” moment in 2 seconds flat. 😂

Well today’s the day I guess I finally became a soccer fan. Through sheer force of inertia. Congratulations, football. Futball? Whatever. Holy moly what a game. #WorldCup
**humblebrag alert**
A nice older couple let us sit next to them in church this morning. When we were leaving, the woman leaned in and said, “I just wanted to say it was so nice sitting next to you and hearing you sing. You have a lovely voice!”
