(1/x) Intubating patients with shock in the ICU is by far the most dangerous bedside procedure we perform in ALL of medicine.
There is a 3.1% cardiac arrest rate during ICU intubations (JAMA 2021: PMID 33755076)
Hereโs how you can make it as safe (as possible) ๐

Hello @fdaghana, are you aware that there are beauty facilities in Ghana that stock Semaglutide and are administering to their clients?
For those who may not be familiar with the drug:
1. Semaglutide is a drug primarily used to manage type 2 diabetes. It functions by increasing insulin secretion (the hormone responsible for reducing blood sugar levels) and reducing glucagon production (the hormone responsible for increasing blood sugar levels), among other mechanisms.
2. The thing about this drug is that, it slows down the passage of food through the stomach, making individuals to feel satisfied or fuller for an extended period.
As a result, they may experience reduced hunger and, over time, lose weight. I believe this is the effect these beauty facilities are trying to exploit.
3. In some countries, a higher dose of Semaglutide, sold under brands like 'Ozempic' and 'Wegovy,' is approved for weight management in ONLY OVERWEIGHT OR OBESE individuals (people with a BMI greater or equal to 27 kg/m2).
Moreover, these individuals must have a comorbid condition such as hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidemia before this drug is indicated.
Even that, it must be administered under strict supervision by a doctor in a hospital or clinic.
4. However, the downside is that continued usage of this drug at a high dose can result in stomach paralysis, where the stomach nerves and muscles 'give up,' leading to a failure of contractions necessary to transit food into the intestines.
So you just imagine eating Banku and it staying in your stomach without progressing through your digestive system. You see?
CNN recently reported that doctors are now witnessing several cases of stomach paralysis in individuals who have been taken Ozempic/Wegovy (both contain semaglutide), raising significant concerns.
Another downside is the fact that, it can easily send you into hypoglycemia (very low blood sugar level), which can kill you quickly.
5. Let me reiterate that, this drug is by prescription only. Your doctor would have to recommend it before you go for it.
6. Lastly, a beautician does not have any authority or license to give you this, be very careful. If you want to lose weight, go see your dietician and doctor. Theyโll tell you exactly what to do.
7. Now share, especially to our ladies.
