The whole Bible is filled with women who preach, pastor and lead. And even in the midst of deeply patriarchal cultures, Jesus and the early church elevated and empowered women.
A lot of us Christians need to acknowledge that “I was one of the worst people on earth, and then Jesus changed me” is not always that powerful or persuasive of a testimony when shared with people who do not think they are some of the worst people on earth.
Last Saturday I got to share with the women at a church about how Christ is for us, and the gospel is for Christians too. I’ve been pondering what one woman—who has been a Christian her whole life, told me afterward.

When speaking of the details of the Jesus' last days, I hope you do not forget it was traumatic for others to witness. I hope you do not demonize Thomas or Peter or anyone else who tried to survive something so destructive to their brain and nervous system.
