@xvolk418@JoshuaBarzon Intent is more in how the quals are applied. Titus 1 and 1 Tim 3 are clear, but what level of skill is required for someone to be "apt to teach"? What kind of teaching qualifies? Was John Mark qualified to serve after he quit on Paul? Paul and Barnabas disagreed. Seems secondary.
@xvolk418@JoshuaBarzon Authorial intent here is that age of earth does not allow for evolution. I recall Dr. Miller teaching he thought the earth was 10-50k yo, and still rejected evolution. With that clarification, do you still think it's primary? As for ministry qualifications...
@JohnathanP27567@JoshuaBarzon I'm one of the creators of this chart. LDS and JWs both fail on the nature of Christ and justification by faith alone. Calvinism is a spectrum, and the line at the top under the chart name guards against the extremes.

@clbolt@AmReformer Some models of triage are better than others. Ours, of course, is the best 😉.
We move from clear to less clear, and ground the categories in scripture. We differ from most models in the definitions and biblical substantiation of the categories. https://t.co/j8Rgq2gI2N
@ebcelkhorn@DoTheology@jhow0089 Funny thing is I would agree with many of his critiques for how triage is often practiced. But obviously I disagree with his core contention that the concept is foreign to scripture. And he rails way too hard against it considering he concedes its a necessary practice.
I’ve had some version of this conversation several times over the past year or so.
“Hey, what do you think about this:
the conspiracy with the Jews,
the moon thing,
Erika Kirk,
Nephilim, etc.?”
Me:
“Can I ask you a question first?”
Them:
“Sure.”
Me:
“What’s your approach to life insurance?
Are you going whole life or term?”
Them:
“What does that have to do with this?”
Me:
“Humor me.”
Them:
“I honestly haven’t thought about that.”
Me:
“That’s exactly my point.
You should be thinking about things like that. You should be thinking about how to secure your family if you die. You should be thinking about wealth transfer. There are a lot of real responsibilities that demand clear thought: your kids’ education, the culture of your home, the well-being of your wife, vocational and skill development, long-term stability.
There’s a lot we should be thinking about.
And yet many of us haven’t done that thinking on the things that actually matter most to our immediate, God-given responsibilities. Instead, we’ve spent a great deal of time consuming and speculating about things that, in comparison, matter very little.”
Most don’t need more information about speculative threats.
They need tighter focus on immediate responsibilities.
There’s good and necessary work to get done.
@TonyReinke My prof had us get Heinrich von Siebenthal's "Ancient Greek Grammar." It is much less user friendly than Wallace's, but prof said it is more up to date with latest understandings of a variety of things. Don't ask me what things😅(and I still use Wallace...don't tell my prof...)
